I have been on sprites inc for a while know and I've finally got the courage to start a thread. To start here's an older sheet I did that is basically an extension of mega man x 1 zero, made by editing the mega man x 3 zero sheet. I know there is no wall climb sprite but I plan on doing that tomorrow possibly after school.

I like how the Zero sprites came out, especially the ladder-climb and the injured sprites. I'd change the eyes on the last two rows, where Zero is falling. It looks as if his helm is falling in his eyes.

I have thought about it and I will. I just want to get a few more sprite sheets done first. Most of my sprites aren't PD unless I say they are, or I submit them to the PD section

I have a comment about your Megaman X1 Zero sheet. It is an excellent sheet but am I the only one who realizes that the orginal sheet of Zero has only one sprike thing on his helmet but the rest of the sheet has two. You should fix that.

About that... Zero is actually suposed to have two spikes on his helmet in Mega Man X1 (http://www.atomic-fire.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=16&pos=63), and "Boob lights". So i'll just add the spike to the original Zero sprites.

Edit: Fixed the helmet spike. :D

Update: Now that I have pretty much finished the Mega Man X1 Zero sheet I thought I would try giving zero x's armor upgrades with some minor edits.

@Demon: I've actually never sprited in that style, so I can't really say if there are any flaws.

I'm going to wait until the weekend to do some more work on x-3 armor zero mainly because I'm getting a little bored with it.

until then if any one has an idea for something for me to sprite let me know, and If any one is interested I will start taking requests as well, but only 2 at a time.

You know its funny but everyone who commented on that group of sprites thought Copy x was x, and the Hyperion form was copy x, and the Zero armor thing I was bored so I decided to work on making a ultimate battle armor for zero, and as you can see it's not done yet though.

bio metal Sniper Joe is NOT PD I plan on eventually submitting it to model royal and a Few comics. once I have finished submitting it to different projects then and only then will it be PD.

Ideas? Hmm...
- Multi-directional shot
- Different grenades(which can be thrown in many directions)
- He charges up a little, and then shoots an arrow-shaped projectile
- He throws some sort of wheel that travels along the ground and up walls
- He puts up his shield, creates spikes on it and dashes forward
- Power shot: Stronger than the normal one, but can be only shot forward
- Fireworks: He shoots a sphere upwards that explodes after it reaches a certain height and then explodes into a rain of flames

That's all, for now.

@ Terry: I'll try the multi directional shots, grenades, fireworks, and charged up shot.

I'll also include the shooting through the shield as an attack that can only be done for a while.

It looks rather strange. I know it's supposed to be, but I mean shading and stuff.
First of all, you should change the position of the sword. Make it face more towards the fourth wall - or else he looks like his arm is broken.
His lower, er, the thing where the teeth are(chin?), seems to be missing it's right side and bottom. You can see his torso through it.
Also, the armour over the left(his left) tank tread should have a break on the edge. Like, an actual edge. If it's round, you should show that by adding an additional shadow to the tread.
His missile-tank-thing is cut of on the back.
His torso shouldn't be shaded so light, since his mouth blocks the light from above.
And, finally, the "carvings" on arms and torso shouldn't have only one colour, but their colour should always be one shade darker than the point they are on. Like, if they're on the lightest shade, they should be the second lightest shade, etc.

Oh. Yeah, that can be too. Though, you should still make the part of the jaw that is farthest away from the screen(screen is what I mean with fourth wll too) grey, or else you just can't see it.

When comparing the arms/legs, they seem to lack the same degree of detail located on the torso.

Added more detail, and feet. anyone want to give the arms a shot? cant seem to get a good scratched arm for it. The arms should be floating with a spike coming out of where the arm would usually connect to the shoulder.

It's not the best sprite I plan to redo it...It is PD, and if used in a game will make the player think twice before grabing a data disk.

All very nice sprites, Demon-Z! I like the Dragon Tank's concept, but it looks a tad bit strange. Omega Met! x3 The king of all Mets! xD I'm a big Metool fan. I especially like the Data Disk enemy! Reminds me of Castlevania and Metroid when you see a bag of gold or an Expansion Tank, go up to it and it attacks you. Never thought of something like that though. Nice work. ^^ Keep em coming.

@:Zyros: It looks pretty good. With my model V I wanted some thing that looked a lot like the original Vile. Yours has more of a custom design to it while still looking like Vile... I'll probably sheet mine but I'm going to wait until I sheet Models S(niper Joe), and W-(Vent/Giro).

The ride armour looks pretty sweet. The only thing I would change about it is Vile should sit back a little more in the ride armour. It just doesn't seem like there's much room for his legs.

Well the way I have it set up vile will split up into 5 parts... Head and torso in one, arms, and legs. The head and torso goes into the part where you see vile. the arms phase into the busters, and the legs phase into the lower part

The tan pieces on the bottom of the sprite look like they're slightly sideways. Like the whole sprite is facing to the left looking at an opponent, but the bottom leg part of the sprite is facing the 4th wall. It's a minor thing, but it looks a little like he's standing askew, if that makes any sense.

The point is, Zero is already in EXE, and, I can assure you he looks fine the way he is.

-The Zx pallete is supposed to have 12 colors per character. It doesn't really matter though, I guess.

Honestly, SJ looks great so far Dameon. Though the shoulders are a bit too long horizontally. Mind shortenning them by 1 pixel to see if it's any better?

The legs are also nice, and I think you should keep them that way.

There are lots of sprites in ZX that only use a part of their palette. The rest is usually used for special effects or something then. Or is simply unused.

As for critique, I think his stomach-chest area is too jumbled detail-wise. It's a bit hard for me to figure out what is what. On the other hand, the legs could use a tad more detail. Maybe you could also darken the outlines of the green parts a bit...?
You used an enemy as a shading reference, didn't you? Enemies are shaded a little different from human characters. Not saying that you should change it, just a FYI.
Good job on actually making something in ZX style, though, and not missing the style entirely :P

Yes, it is done nicely in Zx style. Hey Dameon, try a green from ZxA and see how it looks. Kind of like what FP was doing. Get a bunch of different character's greens, and then see which one is the best for your SJ.

Also, I still think the shoulder pads need to be 1 pixel less wide.

In it's helmet, there is a part that you shaded as the black(in this case dark orange) line in the met's helmet was a object(I don't think I worded that correctly, but I don't can't currently of a better way to describe it.) From what I know, it is just a painted detail, but I may be wrong.

You're probably right about it just being a detail... I'll work on fixing that.

And before anyone mentions it. Yes, I do know that a lot of these are above the color limit. If you take a look at the Marvel v.s. Capcom Roll sprites... I've made plans to make use of layers to bypass that annoying limitation.

I'd also like your opinions on which of these I should work on fully sheeting first.
So far, I know that I want to finish the Marvel v.s. Capcom sprites, and the sprites I'll be using for my comic.

Right now they look like funny colored statues. It'd be nicer if shiny and slightly transparent some-how. Even if Capcom didn't do that with Devil.

At the moment, the Model TopMan's leg is positioned oddly. If it was for the other leg it would work great, but I don't think his stance would involve such spread legs. The second sprite of the MMZ MegaMan looks fine IMO.

I say the third sprite for the enemy conversion, it's the most colorful but it still matches ZX. Megaman has an awfully thick neck, and the hand on the left bleeds into his underwear a bit. The hand on the right is a little too square. Zero's new armor is nice, though his striped underwear is scaring me a bit. The 8-bit stuff alll looks good as well, especially the shieldmarine. Megaman could be a bit smaller while ducking, though.

Just to be clear which of the Zero sprites are having a hair problem?

Well, the back view...
A. The leg bangs are too wide and whilst they should be a simply extensional color to the legs, the way yuo made it it looks like a bracelet, on the leg.
B. The feet are too horizontally long.
C. The head is pillow shaded
D. I will simply say I wouldn't call it hands the way it is as of now.
Overall, objective errors.

Front view;
A. The head seems too large.
B. It seems pillow shaded.
C. The legs seem too small.
D. He looks too stiff.
Overall, subjective mostly, as some of these are ACCURATELY correct according to the normal sprites, they just don't look good the way you made them.

Shield poses:
1.No error.
2.Hand looks weird.
3. Shield is too close to him and he's overall shaded too dully. Try reshading him with more of the brighter hues, not to mention the fact you can give him highlights because the shield should light him up, as in, literally, it creates light, being a light saber.

Teleport:
Again, legs too small, subjective opinion, and uhm, his torso belt is too wide and bolded. It looks like he has undies, black undershirt, belt, black undershirt, red overshirt, rather than undies, black undershirt, white spot on red overshirt.

Alrighty. Got a little Non PD sheet here.
My own version of an 8-bit Forte sheet. Mostly did this for a game Jace is working on, partially did this just because I hate nearly all the other 8-bit Forte sheets I've seen.

Second, I feel I've gotten a bit rusty with my spriting as of late, so for a limited time I will be accepting any and all requests within reason (I'm not going to sheet your whole fan character for you, I'm not going to sprite a man giving a reacharound to a hedgehog, and I'm not going sprite a gundam in proper proportion to classic Megaman.)

All I ask is that you provide references to any style you want, and a decent representation of any characters, or objects you'd ask me to work on.
