A game i'm making. Sorry if the boss sprites are poorly done, but I'm not to good at making sprites and not too good at editing them either...
The controls are:
A = jump
S = shoot
down+A = slide
down+S = grenede
space = pause
I made this with Gamemaker, unregistered.
There are a few bugs, i admit, and its not finished, but yea.
Enjoy.

Wow, this one's really fun. You've really put some thought into making this game.

I forgot to post that you can get hidden upgrades:
An RPG (replaces regular shot)
A double jump
A helmet (lets you charge faster)
An armor
Thats as much as i can remember...
Also, if you get stuck or can't jump for some reason, just pause and then unpause.

Hint: For those who can't get past the larger pits, just run and jump when you almost fall off the edge. It should help. Either way, it takes a bit of time and patience to complete a level. Averege time for a level: About 5 min.
The location to 2 of the upgrades: Sonicman's level, after the checkpoint and Gearman's level, the second room. The other two you can't get until you find the double jump, but they are easy to find.
Game maker is becoming a really popular tool now days, before it use to be with TGF and MMF (well many still do use those programs)
One question, tried any other game making programs Solar?

Game editor, but its hard and the free version only last a month.
And it cost alot to upgrade...
When I pause it, it won't let me unpause. Is there a certain button you press to unpause?
EDIT: Nevermind, I figured it out. Great game by the way. It needs more enemies though.
Go to the wepon you want to use and press space.

Hummm, are there any suggestions? Its not a finished game so I can still put stuff in.
You may want to add more enemy variety. Two types of enemies does not make a very chalenging game. Not only that, but you don't have mettaurs! Can't have that, can we?

I'll add the usual met enemy. There's the Flying Met enemies though.
Maybe you coul'd make a met-level with all kinds of differends mats,
I'd love that! (not that way)

Well, I didn't know you were on this forum, Solar! Yep, it's me, Protoman! Or should I say, "Proto Man"! This is a very cool video game!

An enemy I'd like to see. You know those construction enemies in flame mammoth's level in X1. If the 16 bit X enemies are compatible with everything else use a few of them(like the robotic bunnies of Death from chill penguine's level for example). Cheap and probably could tell they're off from what you're using everywhere else, but if its close enough then go for it please! It'd be good to see a bit more variety(tip, most of the larger enemies from the 16 bit x games don't, in my oppinion, look good with a mm7 style enviroment).
WOW. Great game. Im heh, not very good but I loved it. Im going to attempt game creation now! Great job! 10/10
Edit: Where is this gamemaker?
You could of just used the edit button.

If you want to get Game Maker, just google it or something.
Just remember, you won't be able to make a game like mine in a day, or week, or a month. I started using GM last Augest-ish. And there are people out there who are better then me. By alot. Just start easy and try coding as soon as possible. And use the help file alot. Thats all i will say at the moment. I'll help you if you ask for it. Just remember I can't help with everything.
k, thats cool thanks alot
Question: Do you need any type of pre-education to make it?

No. But it does help I guess. Just go to their forum and look around. There's bound to be something to help.
I enjoy this game very much!
wow, that's great stuff. But it would be better if you made a bigger screen, and the lack of variety does not help, but overall it's a very good game.
Awesome game! By the way, you can get ot gamemaker easily by typing in gamemaker.nl at any time. Happy game making!
Sorry to multipost, but here's the link: GameMaker (http://www.gamemaker.nl)

In future use the "edit" button to edit your last post rather than double posting.
Hmm. I once got stuck in the Space Level and even a pause/unpause didn't help me. BTW, the way you uise enemies in that level isn't very attractive. Try a more "freestyle" pattern instead of walls of enemies at a time.
Very good game! It's funny how I see that a lot of people in here use Game Maker to create their games. When I searched the GM forum I didn't find this many games.
The movements are pretty good. Some sugestions:
1) Try to reshade Sniper Joe to make it more like the enemies you are using.
2) Maybe you could make his shield to appear only when you need it (you press a button for it) and you can't run when you are using or something like that.
A little bit off topic: Game Maker is a very helpfull tool for starters (like me) and it becomes very powerfull when you realize it barely has any limitations. Besides that you can find lots of tutorials and examples if you google.
the game: 9/10 (I would use bigger sprites, maybe double size)
