Question about MMX

In the misc. area in the sprites inc. archives of MMX its shows the inside of viles ship, which looks like the entrance to a boss level, and the ship destroyed, but I've been through the entire game and never saw it. Does anyone know where that appears?

At the very end of Storm Eagles stage. You fight him on top of the destroyed ship while it falls, which is kinda cool.
