I personally prefer Isometric Pixel Art though.

It needs alot more detail. And should be a little bit bigger if it's a fighter sprite. It should look more like he is holding the sword, less like it is just floating in his hand.

If you are fond of Isometrics, try looking into Final Fantasy Tactics sprites. High Detail and Isometiroc look. Aslo since its editting, its easier to learn the basics of shape and design.

Eh, I'm not too new to IPA.

And aren't FF Tactics 3D? Or are you talking about the character sprites?
IPA character's hard as hell :( Thanks for the advice though.

Everything in FF Tactics is composed of sprites. (Well, I think so... :g-drop: )

The GBA version is 2D, but the original's (PS1) environments were 3D I think.

Was working on a turret like enemy sprite:

What else should I add to it? I'm planning on adding more texture on its surface (outside) and more details.

well maybe you could make it a bit darker...

Your sprites in general need more contrast between the colors. It'll help show the light sources better. You also don't need 19 colors, (technically 20 including the transparent, as your little color bar thingie shows.) 16 would work just was well or maybe better... (Technically, 15 NOT including the transparency.) 16 colors is also the "color limit" that people use when they make sprites professionally. But, I think you only need to worry about that if you want to sprites professionally.

As far as isometric sprites go, there's usally some kind of over head perspective for the sprites. They don't HAVE to be at an angle, but it does make them stand out a little better.

Most of your stuff isn't bad though, some concepts are nice too. I would like to see some isometric humans though. And maybe some better color choises to go along with better contrast. The shading you do is pretty good though. I'm hoping to see more isomentric work, since I don't see that to often. It's nice to see! :)
