I'm sorry Gromit, but i'm just crackers about street fighter!

But uh to be more specific, it's gotta be 3rd strike as of this current moment. Dunno if mugen counts.

Come to think of it i wonder what it would be like if Wallace was in Street fighter.

Oh yes. 3rd is by far the best Street Fighter of them all. Everyone raves about SFII, buy really, SFIII is just so much more fun. HARDCORRRE.

There's some debate about Alpha being better. From what i can make out SF3 keeps things traditional bar parrying and super arts whilst alpha just goes over the top.

Soul Calibur isn't too shabby btw. :)

Alpha has nothing on II or III. Loads of characters, but the series was just kinda dull, to be honest.

I would have to agree on Street Fighter III being fav punch up but i also think StreetFighter II is as well, so why not kill two birds with one stone and get the anniversary edition (xbox owners only!) awww sweet as! endless fun!!!

The only Beat em up that I play regularly is SSBM.

However, I'm surprisingly good as Xiaoyu when I play my friend's copy of tekken 3/4/5; and I had Pocket Fighters on my Playstation, but my only memory card is busted, and I'm no good at it anyway. T_T

Tis be a great game when you regularly have 4 or 5 people over.

Soul Caliber II's pretty fun too. Altough no-one else around here seems to like it. Oh well.

Soul Calibur II was good. I find Soul Calibur III a little slower paced than it's prequel.

And Super Smash Brothers will always be a great punch-up game for me.

Soul Calibur series is great, still not sure if the third or second is better. Another notable one is Power Stone, that was one great game you could play with a friend, as well as Smash bros melee.

And of course lets not forget Streets of Rage, that was a brilliant side scrolling beat em up.

streets of rage is my al time fave game ever! (if you look at my top 10, its there at #1) i reckon streets of rage 2 is the best outof the 3 even tho i love em all!!!

For me Gill's initially like "Well he's smart. Seems like an average fighter to play against." Then he whips out the Seraphic wing and then i go "You bastard." in a Peter Griffin accent.

And yes i envy you Xbox\Japanese PS2 owners for getting the home edition

Was actually alluring more to competitive beatemups but hey don't let me stop you. May as well remember those happy days before they decided to sodomize the genre is the GTA gang feel like what they did with Final fight (insert blue skys rant here).

Soul calibur II was great for sure, but it didn't really do anything new from the first one, which really set the benchmark that all fighters since try to aim for. Still, playing as Link is fun.

I never got the Gamecube version, but the X-box one. Playing as Spawn was great, given his rediculously overpowered ultimate weapon. Except then I couldn't use my best character come Soul Calibur III, but meh.

Well you know, there was nothing like playing with one of your mates/family member going around beating people up on the streets, then accidently punching them and they try to take revenge on you by hitting you with a metal pipe. Ah yes, those were the fun days.
