OOC: ForteBx.EXE's characters are in this... yes I know they're his, but he knows I'm doing this. You can IM him if you wish. His AIM is EMHHQ. This sounds very dark, but... I'm in a dark depressed mood. Might as well get those feelings out through writing.

The Maverick Hunters... worthless fools who wish for him to die.

They were founded years ago, and after the third world war, they were the only organization that existed in this bleak post-apocalyptic world that is Earth, the protectors of the innocent and destroyers of evil. Navis were slowly starting to diminish, but "Project Starforce" was put on a halt due to the still raging war between the Maverick Hunters and Dark Chaos, so they still existed.

He still remembered the days before the third human world war. Many perished when the terrorists bombed the major cities around the planet, but in the end, it was one man wearing a suit of cybernetic armor that took out the threat and put a permanent end to the war. Of course during the ensuing chaos, Earth soon became just like the parallel world Beyondard, Navsi and viruses materializing into the real world at ease.

He looked around, grinning to himself. This city was once alive with the people taking shelter from teh war outside, but now it's nothing but a city of corpses. He's taken out the Hunters that protected this city, but then looked out of the corner of his eye; a survivor. Armed with the usual Rock Buster Rifle Mk. X17.

"Demon! St-stay away!"

He wanted to laugh at the young man's pathetic excuse for firepower, as the shots pretty much bounced off the barrier he conjured up.

A crimson blade formed in his right pale hand, and with a swift slice and sickening sound of carved flesh, his head rolled off the body, which slumped to the ground, blood pouring from the exposed neck like a fountain. The eyes were in total shock, but to him, the executioner of the helpless man, he was pleased, aroused by the sight and smell of blood.

"Shadow!" Then he came, a powerful blast of energy ripping through the barrier and slamming into his back. The energy blade faded from existance in a flash, and he gritted his teeth to bare the pain that shook his body.

"David..."

The one called Shadow got up, and turned around. Over the years of terror and war, he's changed alot. From what he was in the past, he was entirely new. All the heavy agile armor of his was stripped from his body, leaving behind his shoulder gauntlets that remained the same gold color.

His Pulverizor Cannon that he had strapped on his back over the right shoulder was long gone. He still had his bodysuit that clung tightly to his cyber skin, but his new clothes he now wore consisted of dark purplish black old dress slacks, a suit with a white undershirt (think Phoenix Wright) under the clothes, a blood red tie with a pair of old fashioned black shoes that held a light shine in the black leather. His clothing outfit held a significant resemblance to the Count of Ground Soaking Blood from the Boktai World, which included the Count's crimson and black cape clipped around Shadow's neck via a black chain and golden steel orbs fused from the shoulder gauntlets. His hair, now free from the now missing helmet, flowed in long wavy locks of dark scarlet. It gave him a much more intimidating look, the feeling that his eyes could pierce through the souls of anything and anybody that gets in his way.

Adorning his waist was a leather armor plated belt with a vampire bat shaped buckle displayed with great pride; for the symbol was his father’s Navi Icon. He looked more human, with the usual traits of a vampire which were the fangs, and his fingernails were long, resembling the claws of an animal which were painted black, except the index fingernails which were a blood red color. Tattooed on the back of his hands were his old Navi symbol

"The son of Mr. and Mrs. Abbott... what a delight to meet again under these circumstances. How long as it been? The last time we met you were just a little kid thrown into a cryogenic shelter which put you to sleep for more than a hundred years."

"You killed my parents... my family, my friends!" Tears streamed down his face, as he faced his father's arch-nemesis who just refused to stay dead. For fifteen years after his one hundred year sleep, he's tracked down Shadow across the Earth. He was only in his late teens but in truth was much older, and soon becoming a man, a man that was raised in a war ridden world. The armor he was clad in was his father's, but lining the back of his forearms were fang shaped claws. He had thruster boosters jutting from the sides of both his leg armor with three metal spikes from the front of his ankles, and a row of spikes aropund the wrists. The shoulder gauntlets were oval shaped, also lined with three spikes, and he had a large scar running down the center of his face.

The viral Darkloid just laughed. "He deserved it! He's killed me so many times, it makes me look I have more lives than a fucking cat!"

David choked on his tears of frustrastion. "Why wouldn't you stay dead? Your father ShadeMan remained dead after all these years!"

Shadow only smiled. "That's what makes me different from dear old dad. Unlike him, I atleast keep living instead of giving up and remaining in the black void of death!"

David noticed the glow of red coming from his pale hands. In response, his buster steadied itself as energy started collecting inside. Shadow grinned as he brought his hands in front of him, and energy slowly began to build up.

"What makes you think you'll live? Albeit ninteen years of age by apperance, you're still young and naive in that mind of yours. You think you can fulfill your father's shoes? There is nothing in this near dead world that will save you from a brutal death by my hands. In the end, you'll just join your family."

That last remark made him snap, "Big Bang Strike!" as David released the surge of energy that built up in his buster.

"Crimson Nova!" In an instant, Shadow unleashed a blood red ball of crackling energy, as both sources collided, resulting in an explosion that leveles nearby buildings of a once live city, now riddled with the smell of blood and death.

When the smoke had cleared, David was alone with death surrounding him, and his enemy had taken the time to disappear once again. He was alone in the world, the last of his family. No Netto Hikari or RockMan to save the day. No Zero, no Forte, no ForteZero. Everyone and everybody that his family knew died in the third world war, from the bombings, or killed in the public view by the terrorists that history known them as SIN... he was the Earth's only hope for survival. But for the fate of Earth, he must take out the one man who refused to die. As he walked away, the clouds that hovered over the city opened with cold hard rain, the loud claps of thunder doing nothing but depress the young man more.

He wandered into a broken house to shelter himself from the rain, and found himself staring at a wall mirror. He took a good look at himself, before he cried out in angrish and punched the reflective glass, watching the shards fall to the ground, much like his shattered soul.
