The series in the Mega Man universe is very interesting to me.
This thread is here for the purpose of explaining the known timeline of all the games since they are in the same world. It's very epic, atleast to me, when I considered playing through all the games (besides MMBN) and having them all connect somehow. Anyway here is some information I've collected, it's all wrapped in spoilers besides the generic topic sentences...
Here's a list I found on a Wikipedia article for the Mega Man series timeline
Mega Man Classic takes place from 200X to 20XX,
Mega Man X begins from 21XX to possibly 22XX afterwards,
Mega Man Zero is the continuation of the X series, set an additional century (appx. 23XX?) after the X series ends,
Mega Man ZX is set several hundred years after the Zero series, and
Mega Man Legends takes place several thousand years after ZX but the exact time is also unknown.

This website explains the entire story behind the Mega Man Legends series, atleast up until where it leaves off in Legends 2. It's incredibly detailed, as somebody must have compiled their knowledge of the storyline into it.

I think I've seen something that resembles things from Legends... is it?
The sources of things relating to the Legends series (Reaverbots eyes, quantum refractors) can be found in Hyleg Ourobockle and Burble Hekelot's levels in Mega Man Zero 2 and Hanumachine's level in Mega Man Zero 3. (Anybody have screenshots of this? I will look for it later if not)
What could the Mother Lode really be?
The CIEL system (the system that Ciel supposedly created to produce unlimited energy) is also not mentioned after Mega Man Zero 3, which means it is possible that the CIEL system is infact the Mother Lodefrom the fables of Mega Man Legends.
Who is the Master mentioned in Mega Man Legends?
"Recently there has been some speculation that one of the main characters in Mega Man ZX named Girouette may be the Master from Mega Man Legends 2, although this is rather unlikely, as Giro dies during ZX." (information quoted from Mega Man Legends on Wikipedia)
That place Mega Man goes to at the end of the game in Legends... how is that related?
Elysium is the place that Megaman travels to in Mega Man Legends 2. Elysium was apparently also mentioned in Mega Man X5. This place was also apparently changed in the English versions to "Elysium", but were originally called "Heaven". It's probably the same place in the series, but it is not yet confirmed.

Lastly, if anybody has any comments to make on this or anything to add or fix, post away. Thanks
