Hey, I decided to join in the fun here now that the old MMC Sprites INC forum is pretty much done with. 'Sides, I need a break from some of the members over there. Seriously, the repeat offenders are driving me up the wall, I'm no longer as polite and such as I was. In fact I've gotten quite sarcastic. o.O
I just decided one day that enough is enough. If people don't wanna follow the rules there, they get warned. If they don't like it, they can get the hell out. No one's forcing 'em to stay.

Aaaanyway...
If you need a custom sprite done in either 8- or 16-bit, I may be able to help, though currently I'm devoting alot of time to MMX3.5. In case you need a tileset or something, I can also do rips of Megaman 1-7, MMX1-3, MMZ 1, 2, and 4, and... that's about it.

Basically new forum, new name, same as my DA so that there was no confusion.

Also Im currently writing an original fiction of mine called wolf chronicles, I release chapters of it once every so oftenby posting them on my DA, my sig will always contain the link to the latest chapter, and once my drawings are up to scratch, i hope to reincarnate a webcomic into something completely different that i used to be a writer for that essentially died.

On the other hand i'll say it's not so much loads of people are stealing his approach, just lots of people are trying to imitate Aliens. I really haven't seen many of my collegues take a shine to him more than i have (which isn't as much as can be expected).
Based on what i've read up on Giger, he's great to be sure i wouldn't directly call the man a genius. Remember he was continueing the previous Surrealist trend and was influenced by Francis Bacon, Freud, and especially HP Lovecraft. Giger's artbook Necronomicon has a title borrowed from Lovecraft and from what i've recently heard Aliens is loosely meant to be a futuristic telling of Lovecraft's victorian novel about phantoms that lay eggs inside this family and during the eggs maturing the hosts become one with the walls or something like that. Ate a lot of Gorgonzola before bed that Lovecraft.
But i guess Giger pushed the boat out by really getting deeper with the trends with using decayed beings and lots of penis shaped creatures (based on his own Swedish genitalia according to one source) and for that we cut him some slack.
Anywho that's enough talk on Giger for now. :P

It's there, but far more lenient. I.e:
No warnings for double posting, swearing, etc.
Basically warnings are only there for those who REALLY cause trouble.
Fortunately we haven't had much chance to use it anyway. :g-laugh:

I dislike Cheating in multiplayer games, Server lags, adelphia, n00bs who have played for a long period of time, people who ignore rules, are mean to others for no reason, go back on promises, and anything else like that, people who use a high level account to give stuff to their low level accounts that give them unfair advantadges, hackers, or other people who ruin games/ forums/ etc. I also hate popups, The american school system, Geroge Bush, people who yell things like I'm the greatest even though they've never done anything of monumental value, people who state the obvious, and people on internet who say things that have already been said. Also, the Mississippi government, Nazis, and people who say that 9/11 or the Holocaust, or other things like that never happened. I've been here for a fair bit but given that I've nothing really worthwhile going on, a few minutes to burn, and still qualify for the segment, I thought I'd drop by.
I suppose the thing that sorta drew me in was the fan game that was advertised on the main page since, shock and horrer, I'd decided to see if I could come up with something of my own. That and I tend to get bored and since sprite comics're a bit overdone and my own 'skill' at sprite creation is laughable at best(I've been trying for years and the best I can pull off are slight edits on a given piece) I thought I may as well give game making a go since I've got to be good at something...and you never know right?

Sometimes I "type in tounges", I'm not possesed I just do that because I want to. I have AWFUL spelling, if you find a mistake please over look them. I use sprites from SI for my games on BYOND, of course everyone there does too so I don't think that's a problem. Well that's about it.

It is a problem when people make big deals about it.
People are simply too thick to have a sensible discussion about it, and when it ends up being nothing but hate spreading... people get offended, etc, etc.

Thanks! The color varity isn't great, as I only have MS Paint to work with, but I do what I can.
Borrowing colors from other sprites and or other palletes are fine.

If you dubble click on a color, and then click "diffine custom colors" you can make almost any color! :)

Yeah, I think that counts. Much easier than sprite ripping, though, as backgrounds never move around. Animate, maybe, but mostly stationary.

Hi, my name's Paul. My initials' PJ (J - Jeffrey), and you may call me whatever you like (as long as it aint offensive, please).
In the real world
I'm a college student at a private college, Digital Media Arts College. I'm also the leader of the project my friends and I've started, which was quite some time ago. Other than that, I work on the computers a lot for businesses and schools and for personal use. My hobbies are pretty basic as well, I like to draw and make music. I know how to speak English (i think? >_>) and Japanese (though I'm not very fluent since I hadnt spoken it in so many years) and American/PSE/English Sign Language. The reason for sign-language is because I'm hard-of-hearing, but to be blunt - I only have issues hearing high pitched noises or I have a hard time understanding a person if they're any further than about 20-25 feet from me.
I got a bratty sister who's a year younger than I am and our parents are divorced. I currently live somewhat on my own and with my aunt/uncle. I normally sleep at my college, thanks to most of my friends and project staffs not letting me get away from the computer...
My goal is to get a Master's Degree in Fine Arts for Digital Animation and Graphic Design. Later, I might look into getting a Master's Degree in Music Composition and General Education to become a teacher.

I'm a workaholic who doesnt like any kind of relationship and such. Normally I value relationships highly, and some of what I've seen on the net gets bored of eachother quickly and just talks about one [rather mature-content material] topic somewhat bothers me. Yes, I'm not into them. And to get one thing straight - I'm straight...
Anyways, I rarely play games since January 14th of this year, other than a few that I use for reference for the project (like all the Mega Man and X games). I like to write a lot and I like to keep everything organized in the manner of being nicely indexed. I'm definetly a computer geek and I own quite a few for myself (you wont trust me if I gave you a number, or even a picture or video). I stay up a lot, and I'm a bit obsessed over my current project and homeworks.
I'm a Mega Man fan, though there are plenty of others out there who are bigger Mega Man fanatics than I am. The only series that do not really catch my attention is Mega Man Battle Network. I've started playing Mega Man games since 1991 (I was 4 years old).
I think that's enough about me... lol...

I don't think you have to worry until you caught someone who actually broke a/some rule(s).
Most of those that I know, mainly friends and crew members, do not join a forum until they review the rules. After I read the rules for myself, I tend to register and then whisper to the forum admin/owner/mods and ask for them to explain to me a specific rule in which I can understand.
The rules here are quite simple actually, and are more flexible than most forums (even my own). There shouldnt be that much of an issue by being too alert about the noobies.
It's nice to know someone wants to keep this forum in a cooperative state, but don't be too firm with the newbies/newbs/noobs/whatever. I'm one too. :P
I'll admit it that I yell at them a lot but in the yelling I help them learn that if they break a rule I'll flip the fuck out on them!

I never really read the rules, i just used logic to determine what is and what isn't a good thing to do here. The Newbs are why i broke the rules, i basically flamed them for asking stupid questions.
