Megaman Battle Network Online: Chaos Network is a fan game that I've been working on for a while. In fact, in a one more day it'll be two years old!

Introduction
------------------------------------------------------------------------
MMBN: Chaos Network was formerly known as Megaman Battle Network Online: Battle Chip Transmission. It is a MMORPG, but it also has a story which is a sequel to MMBN 6. You will play as a new character named Koshiki Otaku and you will see a new cast of characters, viruses, navis, villians, allies, etc., but you will see some familiar faces . There is a new Internet which is known as the Ethernet, and P.E.T.s are now watches. With a new feature, with a simple press of a button you can make your navi stand right before your eyes! It is merely a hologram, but it talks to you just as it normally would.

Gameplay
------------------------------------------------------------------------
MMBN: CN plays out just like MMBN 6 only with many more features. The overworld will have new features such as "search" and "dig". Search allows you to use radar to look through certain walls and other places. Dig allows you to dig a into the net for rare items. You will be able to dig further if your strength is high. As for the battling, there will be new features such as Bug Chips and Crosses and Tag Team. Bug Chips are a special new kind of chips that allow you fuse with whatever virus is on the chip. In order to obtain such chips, you must achieve certains things during a battle (such as killing a Metaur in less than one second). There are Navi Crosses, too and they work the same way.

Story
------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm still working on the story, so I'll keep you all updated on that.

Demos
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Battle Engine: The battle engine is progressing very quickly. In fact, I have released two demos of it already.

Build 2: Much better than Build 1 graphics wise and features wise. Two noticable new features are the Charge Attack and the use of chips! Complete enemy AI is yet to be added, though.

Build 1: There isn't much in this build. There is an error in the custom guage causing it not to work, but this is a start!

Thank you! And as for that bunny post, I'll take that as a compliment I guess.

Anyways, the game has been updated... a lot.

1. The name of the game has changed. From now on it will be known as Megaman Battle Network Online: Chaos Network.

2. This is NOT as big of a change as you think. The game is no longer a side story to MMBN4. It is now a sequel to MMBN6. That's all. Same main character (Koshiki Otaku), there will still be a new cast of viruses, navis, enemies, etc. And it is still a MMORPG.

3. The site has a new design. There are still a few things in the news system that need to be fixed and the color of the design may change to more of a cave blue color.

4. I've started the overworld and will probably release a build of that within 1-2 weeks.

Thank you all for the patience and I apologize for not updating for so long!

Good to see you've updated. Would you like me to change the name of your thread to fit?

Toxic Seahorse, you're officially my favorite mod (sorry BBD and SC :D )!

Anyways, more updates!

1. I'm going to update the first post a lot. This is no longer a demo 2 thread. It will now be the official thread for the game.

2. I'm going to add a few screenshots of the overworld in a few.

3. I'm going to check with my artist to see if there are any new updates concerning art.

Art update! Here is an unfinished picture of Koshiki Otaku.

Keep in mind that this is WIP, so it isn't perfect. It'll look better when it's finished.

Sorry for the triple post, but why won't anyone post? I know that people tend to shy away from MMORPG MMBN games because of idiots with no programming knowledge and no proof say that they are making one, but if you guys actually gave my latest demo a chance, you would think differently. Really. I for one deserve a chance since I actually have P.O.P. (proof of production). No one who will fail would've gotten this far.

I will give it a shot. Oh ya, can I do the art for it? I am telling you, you will not be dissapointed.

Plus I draw on the computer via mspaint.

Okay, but I'll need to see a sample of your art so I can decide if you'll be the main artist or the secondary artist.

Those draing look great! And you said that you draw better than that now!? You are definately hired. I'll add you to the list right now.

Oh, and guess what everyone. Today MMBN Online: Chaos Network turned two years old!! That's right! Back in February 21st of 2005, I started a project known as Megaman NT Warrior using RPG Maker 2000 which eventually developed into a sequel to MMBN 6. It feels like it was just yesterday that I was using a recolored Megaman sprite from MM Soccer as Megaman.EXE.

A few thing the custom gauge the charging is slow and megaman hp only goes down to 10 and he doesn;t die.

I'll have those fixed up for the next demo that I release with any battle features (right now I'm focusing on the overworld and the story since I now know that it is possible to make a battle engine identical to MMBN's).

I'm actually thinking about merging the overworld and the battle engine into one big release, but first I'll have to fix some bugs in both of them including the ones that you mentioned.

Art Update! Koshiki Otaku's picture has been updated. It is still WIP, but it is progressing. The colors will be improved for the final drawing. Here it is.

Cool!
P.S : in your SIG the "download it here" thing , the link is broken...

It's a pretty cool demo. You should update the info in build 2 cause it says space is to shoot and well it's not. Also Megaman shouldn't be able to rapid fire, cause usually you can fire the next shot once the first shot either hits or misses. And oh yeah when charging it sort of looks like the game is lagging. Either way it looks like its progressing nicely.

I am glad to hear that you enjoyed that little demo.

I'm still having a distortion problem in the overworld, so for now I am going to ignore it and move on.

I released another demo not too long ago. You can download it HERE (http://www.mmbnonlineforum.proboards46.com/index.cgi?board=demos&action=display&thread=1175477488&page=1). I will add the link to the first post in a minute.

Important Note: As of now the demos will be in .rar format. So if you do not have it yet, be sure to download WinRAR before downloading the demo.

Interesting. I can see that there's lot that needs to be done, but I would like to help you out since I've release an overworld demo with a random virus encounter system myself.

What do you say?

'Shadow

I'm sure I can find a spot for you.

The only thing that was keeping me from adding battle features to that release was that one of my co-programmers has not finished the random encounter system yet. I think he might be finished now.

Thanks a lot, Shadow! :D

The only problem with my random battle feature is that when the battle is finished (when you win, of course), MegaMan ends up in a different from where he was before the battle. -_-;

Other than that, it works pretty well, and I have three viruses proggramed.
