Right, this goes out to anyone who is about to make a post concerning a fangame.

It. Needs. Evidence.

Screenshots (even fake ones), for example, what programming language/program you're using. Game features, what makes it different from every other fangame out there... etc. etc. Repeat ad nausm.

Secondly - saying "OMG I HAV IDA FER GME WILL U LOTZ HELP MEH?!" .. is.. just.. no. Topics like these will be locked.
Asking for help is fine.
But when you're asking for every little thing to be done by someone else - thats not what this sub-forum is about!

If it's your fan-game, YOU'RE THE PROGRAMMER.
Not someone else.

Finally - if you don't have much in the way of evidence and just want to post what the game is about and features that you can't prove.
Make sure it doesn't read like a hemroid suffering organutang just tried typing it with his arse. Blindfold.

Really. It's not that hard not to. (http://www.sprites-inc.co.uk/forum/faq.php?faq=rules_faq_item#faq_new_faq_engleesh)

I'm going to start enforcing the "No - Evidence = Locked Topic" rule from now.

Sidenote:
Non-Megaman fangames and non-fangames are also appreicated.

This doesn't mean "ill hav ethe evidence soon," This means "I have the evidence now in easily presentable form, the link(s) work(s), and I know how to capitalize my sentences and spell 'the' correctly."

Posting because apparently some of you forgot.

I'm posting because of CERTAIN attitudes that gets my nerves.

Use proper punctuation, STOP USING abbreviations like thx and all that.
DONT POST SOMETHING LIKE THE QUOTE BELOW. This is a damned forum, where you can bloody post AFTER you spell everything correctly. NOT A FUCKING CHAT.
what ever r u talking about

should i do this on rpg maker xp or 2k3
IF YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO PROGRAM THE GAME ON, WHY THE FUCK DID YOU POST IN THE FIRST PLACE?!

And stop giving the "YOU SUCK I'M CORRECT" attitude to anyone that give you anything harsh.

Life IS not a smooth. Accept it.

I have a question about that:

Let's say I wanted to make a fan game, but can't program my way out of a paper bag. Could I ask another person to program for me as long as I contribute a major portion of the project (i.e. Story, Music, Sprites, backgrounds, etc.)?

Then, basically, it wouldn't be your game.

You'd just be another team member..

There should be a thread for people wanting to HELP for a game, but not do the major stuff.

What is the programmer other than another team member aswell?

The programmer makes the games' engine and AI. Others may make the designs, whilst another does the ingame graphics, and another the story setting, another the script itself. It takes more than just a programmer to make a game.

In the industry, the programmers hardly get credit for their work. And often one game has multiple programmers. It's in general the producers and such that gets the most credit and the director that's involved with all aspects of the game making making process. The ones in the spotlight are the ones whose game this is.

All in all, the head of game creation of a project is the one chosen to be and accepted as such. Wether this is a person that regulates quality of all members, or is the visionary of the team, acceptance is the key point.
