Chapter 1: The Tear of Fire
Ryuu sat in the house of his longtime companion, Cael. The two both had draconic heritage, though Cael's was much less pronounced. Ryuu had just finished his last dinner at Cael's residence and was prepared to leave on his journey. "Well... Time for me to leave..."
Cael walked next to Ryuu and handed him an apple. "I know it isn't much, but it might be the only thing you have to eat for a while," Cael said.
Ryuu took it and smiled at his friend. "Thanks, but hoplefully food won't be an issue," he replied, putting the apple carefully in his bag. "Anyway, I really have to go, but trust me, I'll be back." Ryuu headed for the door and turned the knob. He slowly opened the door, walked out, and closed it. "Well... Here we go..." As soon as Ryuu took a step out the door, a bolt of black lightning landed infront of him, making no noise but revealing a dark robed figure.
Warlock (Don't blame me for bad names. They aren't my forte...) grinned with a look of superiority at Ryuu. "You can't win... Even if you defeat me and claim this..." Warlock took a small metal dragon figurine inlaid with three black gems, two small and a large one, and showed it to Ryuu mockingly, "You'll still be consumed by the darkness of this gem and submit to Ra..." He stowed the ornate figure back into his purple robe. A second bolt of lightning struck Warlock. Ryuu shielded his eyes. When he opened them, Warlock was gone.
"I'll never submit to Ra..." Ryuu clenched his fists in anger. Ra was the dark figurehead of Tear, the orginization that attempted to collect all of the gems that Warlock had presented to Ryuu, the Dragon Tears. Ryuu had collected one of them during his previous adventure, the Tear of Flame, but it had been taken by a bandit the night before, which was the main purpose of Ryuu's current detirmination to collect the rest. "Warlock... I promise... I'll kill you..." He looked to the south, to the city of heat: Zadaa. (Hopefully none of you recognize that name...)
