Time to announce Sonic GG! a little Sonic fangame I've been working on, screenshots are at the very bottom of the page, everything from here on in is game information

Story
The calm East Side Island, a peaceful land home to undisturbed nature locations and a vast human city, whilst taking their break, world renowned heroic duo Sonic & Tails watch as the evil Dr. Robotnik high jacks the global air waves to announce that unless his demands for world conquest are not met, he shall destroy all the miracle islands, Sonic & Tails spring into action knowing that the fate of the islands rest in their hands.

Gameplay
So far the game runs on a basic static engine (think of Sonic without the loops, maybe something like a faster Mario if you will) however I hope to upgrade the engine to the 360 degrees (so that Sonic can do loop da loops) so far all I can say about this game's gameplay is...

- There may be two characters (Sonic & Tails) but for the moment I'm leaving it as Sonic (don’t want a overload of work dare I say!)
- Multiple routes will play an important part in this game, especially for the extra missions.
- Once a level is completed, in the two city zones, certain missions will be available.
- Depending on how lazy I feel, completing these missions may mean mini-games.
- A night and day feature may be implemented, this however isn’t certain since I feel it might be just useless XD
- Unless otherwise stated, expect only ONE level per zone.
- Expect gimmicks and all the usual stuff from Sonic games (IE spings, loops, spikes etc etc)

City Zones
Right there are two, these locations are where Sonic can get some missions for certain levels when he completes them, missions will have certain "tips" to help you complete them. They are also the links to the zones in the game. So far not much I've got on them apart from one is a human filled city while the other is animal filled (not Sonic sized, the tiny ones) the animal city gets more populated as you complete more of the levels.

Right now for the zones. Their bios are intended to sound Sonicish, and this is not the full list, I'm holding back on the other four zones.

East Island Locations
Greentop Gallows Zone
A mountain side covered in lush green scenery which, from a distance, resembles a giant gallow, legends tell of an ancient beast hanged by the powers of the mystic gems...Sonic begins his adventure to foil the plots of evil genius extraordinaire Doctor Robotnik aka Dr. Eggman here!

Iron Institute Zone
Chasing the mad doctor, Sonic arrives at a run down ex-military base used for research and development, old and abandoned surely our hero Sonic will be able to make it through here with no troubles...or will he? robotic experiments gone haywire are running amuck but a quick spin attack will send them packing!

Dusty Diamond Zone
Heading straight for the Eggman's icy fortress, Sonic must make his way through the snowy waste field of Dusty Diamond, keep the pace up and you might end up slipping too much! relaxed and calm, our hero makes his way as slow as possible, or as slow as Sonic can be!

Tekno Trap Zone
Inside our hero goes, but can he make it back alive? Sonic heads straight for the core and dodging all the traps and badniks Doctor Robotnik has to offer, Sonic ventures deeper until he gets to the core to face the Eggman, time to shut this factory down!

I love the scenery here...don't you?

So whens the release date for the demo some of you might ask? Its planned between November 14 - 17 (to coincide with Sonic the Hedgehog's launch) if the engine is ready (which at the time of writting is about 70%) all the badnik animations are done, then expect it by then, latest this demo can be pushed back to is November 29th.

Anyway I'll keep peeps posted with info on my little project, thanks for taking the time to view it.

Hmmm not sure if I should do this, but Sonic Next comes out on the 24th in Britain now (15 years after Sonic 2uesday, coincidence?) so I might push the date back to that.

@ Bluesonnet: Be sure to catch me on Sunday, the demo should be almost completed by then.

@ GG Hendrix: Katawba Valley Land Trust or something to do with metal? yes I needed to look that up.

It does? XD well I take that as a compliment!

Anyway some of you might be expecting that demo today, no can do folks, MMF is not letting me transforer the whole level without hipcups, so instead I have to transfer the level bit by bit, so I'm delaying this game until 24th November (British release date of Sonic the Hedgehog and 15th anniversary of Sonic 2uesday!) but the 360 engine seems to have gone as planned, only bugs at the mo include the ring loss system (sometimes after sending you a bit back, it'll make you go auto forward) and the sensors going at of whack after finishing loops but thats about it. I'll give you two new screenshots, parallax has not been added in these shots and some foreground is missing.
