I've been thinking of several names for this comic. First was Press Start, but I'm pretty sure that's been taken. Second was Score 000000, but that doesn't sound good. My third choice is World 1-1, I think it's okay, so I'll use it for the time being. Anyways, the set up for the comic.
It's a pretty simple comic, meant to be a several month project to get me into the habit of comic making. It's about a kid as he goes through his attic, and upon finding an old NES and realizing he has nothing better to do, he plays the game he finds in it, Super Mario Bros. There are two screens, the top one shows what's happening in the story, while the second shows the dialogue. In between these two is a picture of a NES controller. If a special action, like Mario jumping or running, is happening, then you'll se it on the controller, though I'm not sure how to show it yet. I may just colour the button differently. For the dialogue box, the top portion shows the real world conversation, and the bottom shows the in game conversation. Neither can hear each other, so it's basically storytelling from two perspectives.
Now then, I don't expect to do anything fancy with this, it's a simple retelling of Mario, with some humour elements involved. Also, if anyone has any idea as to what I should to for the whole button thing, feel free to post it. I'll be posting comics in groups of twos, since I don't like working with the paint screen enlarged, and four panels is usually the way to go. Here are the first two comics of Super Mario, aka, World 1-1, aka What Have You.
