Story- 5 years after the events of Rockman and Forte a state of the art orbital satelite was deployed into space. The satelite had enough weapons on it to protect it from an alien attack if one were to ever occur. 1 day the orbital satelite, out of nowhere, fired a huge laser burst at Doctor wily's base obliterating it. Rock and CO. were immediatly called to Doc. light's lab and given a ship to send them to the satelite to find out what the source of the problem. They arrived at the satelite to find Forte already there. Forte informed them the Doc. Wily had survived and relocated to a secondary base along with a prototype mech codenamed "Zello"

Gameplay- The game itself will be in RM8 style. It'll be like most Orignal RM series games except for the fact that you can play except that you can play as Rock, Blues or Forte. Each will have different abilities which will be revealed at a later time (Solar13lade will know ahead of time for obvious reasons). There will be roughly 24 different Robot Masters as the series should end the best way possible. Each character will follow a seperate route though the satelite and they meet up after the character you play as beats his eight RM's. After they beat their eight RM's they go through the final area in the game, you'll be able to switch to the 2 other characters whenever you want though only the character you play as will have his gained abilities. In the final area of the game you get to do the near unthinkable. There'll also be an unlockable challenge arena where you'll get to fight all the robot masters from the previous games, that's 64 robot masters, and you get a special armor for each character which is more powerful than the armor they each get in the game as well as Hard Mode for the main game. Beating Hard Mode shows you the true ending and gives you the true final boss

1)- Robot Master Contest
As you see above there's only 16 out of the 24 robot masters listed there. That's because we're holding a contest in this thread to determine the remaining Robot Masters in the game. All you have to do is make a sheet for you Robot Master in 32bit style. The contest Deadline is November 20th. So get to work everyone who wants to enter! PM me AND Solar13lade your Robot Master when it's completed. We'll announce the winners Nov. 23

I'll help,also,8 of the robotmasters should be at leat one from each game,Like after you beat the first new 8RM,you'll go against another old 8RM,and 8 more new RM.

Nah. I usually do several projects at one time.

But 24-32 Robot Masters O_o... Thats a bit crazy. Good thing its 8 per character or so. Or maybe we can have 24 and mix and match. Wait. 3 X 8 = 24. ><.

And Giga Threat really hasn't started yet. And I've pretty much stopped working on most other projects, so I'm only working on 1 other project. (Which I shall reveal when done ^_^.)

We are SO going to need tileset makers.

I like the idea though ^_^.

EDIT: As for RM, we could do 16, and mix & match them. Cuts off some of the work. But I really don't care, as I'm not spriting ^_^.

Ha, another ambitious game creator. XD Megaman ZT's weapon gained boss list is 24 (using classic MM themes too that weren't duplicated in the X and Zero games fully) too, can't wait to see the first demo. : )

General descriptions of the Robot Masters
Rocketman- He needs to look like a rocket, a missle type rocket not a rocket ship for space
Strikeman- He's a ninja, cause they pwn all
Lockman- Like a cross-hair lock, no a lock with a key
Shotman- Can't really say much 'cept he needs a variety of guns
Blazeman- he looks similar to a spikey virus from the BN series
Twistman- Like a tornado twister
Ancientman- An old samurai dude
Tideman- A submarine
Boltman- Be creative, it's like a thunderbolt not a bolt like junkman would use
Giganman- A really big dude with 2 heads
Meteoman- A cute little floating meteor guy
Breakerman- Like the rock guys in X1 who fall from the ceiling in Sting Chameleon's stage
Chibiman- A small cute dude who uses armies of mini-soldiers
Edgeman- A dude with 2 swords
Dragoonman- kinda like magma dragoon except more like a dragon
Wraithman- He looks like a grim reaper

If I may... I'd suggest we do MM7 style instead of MM8 style, since MM7 already has all the poses needed for protoman, bass, megaman. That, and it's considerably easier to sprite.

@TAOR:Well... the game's gonna be called Special Forces 2088.
Anyway, you play as a member of a special police unit using prototype battle suits that give the player special powers. There will be multiple characters, each with their own special ability, but besides that, the gameplay will be the same for each character. I've already decided on one character's special ability: Ray Larson's suit will allow him slow time around him for short periods of time, allowing you to dodge bullets, etc.

Anyway, the gameplay will be a combo of melee and long-range combat, with multiple weapons available.
I'm planning on doing custom sprites for everything... I'll do a bit before I post a thread for it, though.... I'm gonna need programmers and stuff since I'm no good at it. :g-drop:

Another question: Will the music be MP3 or MIDI, because I know someone who can make some really cool MIDI. Besides, MIDI takes up less space, though it doesn't sound as good as MP3. Taor?

Midi's are fine. In the GB PT file it's around 4 MB's which is 3/4+ MP3, and there's only one MP3 in it.

I'll help in any way possible. I could make little enemies, I s'pose. Some tiles for the level... Not backgrounds though... Too complex. Just tell me what I can do. If you trust me with spriting a boss I'll do it. But don't expect it to go well.

Meh, I've decided to just go straight into the game programming with the actul sprites. The first demo will include:

Test room
Rockman (Hopefully fully programmed.)
And maybe Forte and Blues.

EDIT: Thought you people should know, but I'm pretty sure we'll need climbing sprites for Blues...

Alright, i'll start getting the programming ready for Twilight, Daylight and Midnight ready. As well as the intro boss

Things needed(mainly a list for the spriters)
Sprite sheets for the bosses
50 enemies
4 mini-bosses(giant met returns)
New armors for Rock, Blues and Forte

Anyway, yea. I'm full solo programming. Makes life easier. (Well, for everyone else. And me too as now I have two games to work on, so I can work on one if I don't feel like it on the other ^_^)

We're going to need a tileset for the intro stage, SO if YOU want to make it, PM me an example of your work, which would be a 32-bit mini-tileset as proof you can do it with satisfactory results. Then I'll PM you want I want for the tileset. If it meets my standards. Make sense? (Remember, I'm also doing level design. At least, last time I checked =d)

I was kinda thinkin that we could make a description of each level, with detail including what enemies will appear where and send it to Zero cause he's the only person doing backgrounds right now.

XD Dissapearing blocks are easy with Bass, and just a bit harder with Megaman.

Just so you know, I AM PUTTING IN DISSAPEARING BLOCKS! Just to annoy the heck out of you all XDDDDD.

We could use the Blues pic as a new design for blues actually, considering what happened to him in RM&F was could use it as an upgraded Blues cause Doc light wanted to give him more power when repairing him and fix the energy problem
We are so fucking using the Chaos Forte Armor in the second pic cause it looks cooler than the first

Let's put the dissappearing blocks in hard mode only cause beating hard mode gives a better reward.

What the title screen needs to look like- It has to have Blues(the new version) facing to the right Rock facing foward and Forte facing to the Left. That's really the only requirement for it

Yo... I'll attempt some Armors if you want... But if I'm gonna' do it... It has to be a "Super Adaptor" type thing, Cuz I just love that! Here's how'd it go!

Blues + Tango - Stronger Coil
Rock + Rush (of course) - Stronger Jet
Forte + Gospel - Stronger Power
And each would have a Coil, Jet, and Power adaptor.

I think it's be a good idea if we brought back the Mega Fist (Or whatever it was called) from MMV (GB)

Also, if I finish my first Grass Man sprite, will it be considered for the game? Cuz I'm almost done...

Oh, and one last thing... I've already got 10 songs done. Most of which suck, but the "Battle" and "Battle Intro" are decent. The one my brother made meant for an "Igloo Man" is AMAZING!!!

If anything, wh should give Roll Battle Armor and pair her with Beat. Ya' know, give her a more angelic, light as a feather type of thing....

A little progress report on programming:
Well, I got movement and gravity somewhat done, along with jumping and sliding, but its not perfect. So I'll be fixing it up abit for tonight. Its also been awhile since I've played either RM&F or MM8, so the physics may be off. A physics demo may be up tomorrow.

Yes, it is still pretty bad. The reason why its so bad is because, one, your pillow shading and that is very bad, two, it is an obvious frankenstein, three, there are some minor style mixing going on, and four, it is in the wrong style.

And that has the same problems with it as the other one. The reason why it looks so crappy is because of the style mixing. I can tell that some of the parts that were used to make that came from MMZ, MM:The Power Battles/Fighters. MMX, and RM&F.

Alright, i'll start getting the programming ready for Twilight, Daylight and Midnight ready. As well as the intro boss

Things needed(mainly a list for the spriters)
Sprite sheets for the bosses
50 enemies
4 mini-bosses(giant met returns)
New armors for Rock, Blues and Forte

(im not a newbie, im a newbie HERE, but not a newbie to MM forums and spriting or stuff. actually, you should see my proffesional brother.)


oh, and ive got an idea for the ultimate level. it can be a hard mode secret one.
the point of it: infinite lives. how do you die? you dont. once you die you return. or you quit.
why is it that hard? its simply lines. vertical ones and horizontal. youre suppoused to remember how you went last time and find out a pattern. cause, some lines are blocks they can walk on, while others are simply lights that look like theyre walkable. same with jumping. you might run into a invisible wall...
the boss? VertaQueen and HoriKing. these two are robots with bassanium, and can walk only on the lines. in the level, if it will exist, there is also a secret y to get Disa-Line gun, a gun which removes the lines and you can walk pastthat obstacle! so, against the boss, if you remove all lines, theyre easy!
and, i can make that item if we create that secret level. it'll be hard as hell...
(Note: HoriKing, can walk on horizontal lines and vertiqueen, can go on vertical ones.)
making that level? ill be glad to make the bosses.

but that was, of course, only a suggestion of a SECRET level in hard mode.

Don't take this as an insult (it's not intended to be one) but we've already decided what RM9's going to be like. There won't be a secret level considering that we want it to be like other RM Classic games. Spriting we need help with cause there's a bit to get sprited so you guys can help with spriting if you want

ok,well either way ive almost finnished my first set of CUSTOM enemies for the game.
i currently have:
Mets
Bomb Mets (incomplete)

on my next return here, you shall see the bomb mets!
ok! 50 enemies? only 48 remaining.

the usual Mets. didnt change em.

on the lower half, when the same sheet begins again, are BOMB METS. these met have red glowing crosses, and are same as mets. once they get behind you(behind your back) in one way or another, theyre eyes will turn white and will have a 3 written on it. 3 seconds and then it explodes, throwing you foreward a few tiles, might even crash you into a wall...3,2,1! BOOM! (3 is normal bomb met, 2 is large bomb met, and 1 is exploding one. youll see...)i didnt add any poses for these mets though :( maybe later

The battle music's kinda short but should work, the MP3's are relavtively small(most are a few MB's) which helps solar13lade even more

a cookie to the person who can guess correctly, what it is i am ripping. and soon, i shall eve show the background itself, allowing you to have a guess which might even be right XD
but, im ripping backrounds. and i found some prettty neat tile sets for pretty buah backgrounds...
so i may be leaving my spriter spot and heading for the background one... cause ripping aint easy... though, it aint got nothing to do with it.

If its from MM8, its not there, though if its from RM&F, then it could be.

And I guess it is Frost Man's far background when you reach the night time part. (After the first sliding part.)

As far as programming goes for the game, meh. Its getting there. Been rather lazy. (I can be lazy. Besides, I have other things to work on too =P. Think of making a game as spriting. It takes time. Execpt with games, it takes MUCH MUCH longer. However, a physics demo is a possible near future thing. Don't worry. I'll probaly have it done before the end of the year.)

BTW- I'm lazy at times as well, though it's usually i have too much to sprite that i just can't get work done on the games i'm making

You probably don't wanna know, but I'll tell you what is in it right now:
Jumping
Gravity
Moving (Right and left.)
Sliding
What is to come:
Climbing ladders. Note: Ladders are NOT easy to do in Megaman style. However, I've done it, so it will be somewhat easy.

Then I gotta test it, yadda yadda yadda, and then Taor gotta test it to make sure I got all the physics and sprites right, then YOU guys/gals(?) can test it. Just remember: A game this big WILL TAKE TIME. That is all.

As for a percentage:
Full game: 3%
Physics Demo: 75-80%

The percent's are good actually. The engine seems to be the hardest part of a game since once sprites and BG's are done all that really seems left is to place the BG's the way the are meant to go the sprites just need programming

about background: working on it. i didnt even finnish the first part of the stage.
about tilesets: this game has excellent tilesets, but if were gonna rip em and/or use em, then one:
we will all have to first see the game itself to see how those tilesets are suppoused to match.
and 2: will have to edit and delete some parts of it.
oh, and the game... i bet most of you know it, but youll have to have an emulator for it! *duh*
