View Full Version : DS Lite Black? Or DS Lite White?
I am seriously stuck. I hear good and bad things about each. Black gets fingerprints and smuges easier, and somtimes there permenet. But white rearly gets smuges and fingerprints, and if it does, it comes off with a smooth cloth and some windex/anything that cleans windows. Black looks cooler though, and has a brighter (Or more stand out) screen in the dark. White is easly spotted, and looks sleeker and overall different. What do you think? Black? Or White?
I say paint it ORANGE!! I mean, go for black. Black beats all.

Get the white and paint it black.
My friend has a black one and it doesn't have any fingerprints on it, i also heard where the early white ones have a hinge flaw.
I know... A + Y turning it off or something? But you get a free one if that happens. The black finger prints and such happen quickly, but you can still clean it. As long as you have a cloth every 5 seconds. But I want some good awnswers, like... why... it'd be better then White... or better then Black.

Having a different colour doesn't change the fact that it will get smudges and scratches WHEN IT'S MADE OUT OF THE SAME FUCKING MATERIAL YOU MENTALLER. :)
It's just with the black it's easier to tell, duh. On white you wont be able to see smudges or scratches (unless, you know, someone goes haywire with a key or something on it)

Plastic does not have magical qualities determined by what colour it is.
Get a black, they look sexier.
And the final, most important point- Having a smudge, fingerprint, or scratch on it will not affect the game or the gameplaying experience.

It may look cool. But it's to commen. You make a good point. But the black is so... DARK. White looks like a fucking Apple... Ipod... Snowcone thing mixed together with Milk! I admit, that balck is a cool color, but white is cool to.
Edit: White is just as shiney, but black you can notice it more.

I bought one the day after my best friend bought a white one.
So naturally, I got a black one.

I'm annoyed at the small colour selection in North America (I still prefer my red DS Standard). Black for the win, though. Seriously, scratches aren't that hard to deal with. Use CD resurfacing agent to deal with them. Works like a charm.
Which is why I'm gonna give mine a custom color scheme once I get enough money. I'm a little broke right now.

I keep debating whether or not I should put one of my Zero Tolerance stickers on my DS.
They keep sending me like, 32 with every issue, I'm running out of things to stick them on!

Or just stick them on random people who walk past you on the street.

I aint putting them on food, they're that paper type stuff, that are IMPOSSIBLE to get off of anything, and probably indigestable or something.
And there's already one on my pc, PS2, 360, Gamecube, stereo, record player, monitor, TV.
Been putting a load up down at the pubs and whatnot down town.
Spreading the word to Extremists everywhere.
Dont think I'll put one on my DS, there's JUST enough room for it though...hmm.
Stick them on Classical Music lovers and see what happens in 24 hours.

Don't bother with the Lite and get the ordinary DS. I prefer the styling of the original but I am clearly a minority.

I just hate the material in general. The normal DS feels more natural(ly artificial :p) to me. If pressed, and I couldn't get grey, I'd say black.

Black looks more badass. Plus, for you Microsoft-humping 'white-looks-like-iPod-so-GHEY' types: iPods come in black as well!

I refer everyone to GG's post a while back. The white and the black DS lite is made out of the same plastic. How can one smudge easier than the other? May I classify something? Are we talking about fingerprints or wear on the plastic?
Fingerprints stand out on the black DS lite more than hey do on the white one. So I hear.

I dont see why so many people are bothered, it's not as though the videogame will bring this screen up "Not playing game. Give the DS a wipe with a cloth you bastard." And besides, it is really, really, really not that much of an effort to give it a quick wipe.
And- My DS doesn't smudge that much.

I'm going to fucking hate myself for it when the time comes, but the second the different colours are released, I'm trading the Wii I will buy on launch, for a lime green one.
