1813ok i wrote a mmbn comic with the inspriation of a classic song, if u don't get the joke, you need to listen to more classic rock.

Jpeg, is bad. Please save in PNG.

Judge Dredd
08-10-06, 17:27
yeah but did u like the comic? it doesnt look that bad in jpeg

tuckur21
08-10-06, 17:28
Yes save in PNG its so blurry and don't use recolors.

Fluttershy
08-10-06, 17:28
Yes it does. It looks HORRIBILE in Jpeg. I kinda liked the joke. It wasn't that great though.

Tuck, he used a recoler for a reason.

Judge Dredd
08-10-06, 17:30
yeah i knew when i wrote it that i would have to use a recolor (i haven't forgot the last time i used recolors but can i resubmit it in png without being warned?

tuckur21
08-10-06, 17:30
Ya I know but I still don't like recolors.

Judge Dredd
08-10-06, 17:32
thats beside the point can i resubmit w/out anyone warning me?

tuckur21
08-10-06, 17:33
Yes you can.

Judge Dredd
08-10-06, 17:35
1814here 'tis. i forgot when i submitted it the first time to put it in proper format and no one else state that it is clearly a recolor which i am aware of.

Judge Dredd
08-10-06, 17:40
i made a paint document that said in 100 size font "note to self, save comics in .png" so i wont forget. ever. again.

tuckur21
08-10-06, 17:41
Much better! But there is style mixing. MM is from 1-3 and protoman is from 4-6.

Judge Dredd
08-10-06, 17:46
yeah i knew that too, good job finding that out...hmm...i could have used gutsman, but however mediocre the joke, i needed protoman for the defeat pose. i should have used mm.exe from bn 4. oh well, i 'll get around to it later.

The Walrus
08-10-06, 18:32
No offense but the comic sucks

tuckur21
08-10-06, 18:35
At least give some C+C to help him out TAOR.

The Walrus
08-10-06, 18:39
Fine

@Judge Dredd- Don't use recolors or style mix and you could have mentioned what song you made the comic about. Also, if you make a comic should have a story

BTW- What the hell does "non-sequiter" mean?

tuckur21
08-10-06, 18:46
Ya I was wondering about that myself.

Judge Dredd
08-10-06, 18:48
it means random or off-subject. look it up on wikipedia. and you should know "yellow submarine" by what protoman said but it was a pretty obscure joke unless u had heard the song before.

tuckur21
08-10-06, 18:51
Who hasn't heard of the song. Coincedentaly when I was reading it thats what I was listening to.

Fluttershy
08-10-06, 18:52
Yea, it was. But I thought it was funny.

Judge Dredd
08-10-06, 18:56
thanks jace and tuckur but apparently angel of ruin thinks it crap but nonetheless i respect his opinion.

Blackbeltdude
09-10-06, 03:06
Angel of Ruin, please stop acting arrogant by trying to talk down to Dredd. When you say, "No offense, but the comic sucks" you're an ass. Next time I see you do it, I'll just give you a level 5 warning.

Dredd, please type a little better, this isn't some kind of instant message system; so you can take your time.

The comic isn't too bad actually. If it was saved in a PNG it'd definitly be better though. I think a recolor in this joke is just fine, since the joke is about a Beatles song... it'd just be to much if he made a completely custom sprite when Diveman already is a sub.

Also, I think you should try to not to mix the battle and overworld sprites. (Though, kudos on the resizing trick, that was a pretty good way of making it work better.) I'm sure Protoman has a pose that would have been better though.

Keep making comics if you enjoy them, I personally think this one is pretty good. :)

Fine

Eh, if it wasn't a recolor the joke wouldn't make sense, would it?

Fluttershy
09-10-06, 03:08
And to add to SC's post. If it's a random comic that's only for jokes, why would it have a story?

Judge Dredd
10-10-06, 00:22
That's true...but maybe I should start a comics thread that only has random jokes such as the one I have posted.

Fluttershy
10-10-06, 00:26
Like this one? 'Cause that's pretty much what this is.

Judge Dredd
10-10-06, 00:29
Yes...I suppose that's true...but if I were to create one that everyone could put their comics on...(anyone can put their random comics on if they please)

Judge Dredd
10-10-06, 00:33
I don't intend to write any comics tonight, but I hope to keep this thread up for anyone who has a random joke comic who wants to see what people think of it.

Fluttershy
10-10-06, 00:34
Cool, but, you could have just edited your post.

Judge Dredd
10-10-06, 00:36
Well I had to add to my previous post and I didn't want my first post to be too long. But I also forget that the edit button is there

I honestly liked it.

Judge Dredd
10-10-06, 01:29
Thanks! I got a really good comic idea, so I might take a bit to draw it down. I'll see you then.

Judge Dredd
10-10-06, 02:15
Ok, then. I was bored and thought of another random comic idea. If you hav never played (or lost) a game of Metal Gear Solid, you wouldn't get this joke.

NetSaver.exe
10-10-06, 02:24
I haven't played Metal Gear solid, but I still get it.

Judge Dredd
10-10-06, 02:26
That's cool, and I am sorry to whom I emailed to push the members of the website to look at it.

Angelstar.exe
10-10-06, 03:47
Couldn't you have used Serchmans OW? It was funny, but,I think thta's style mixing.

Surreal-8
10-10-06, 07:37
I've never played a Megaman game in my life but even I find this quite funny. It's the only Megaman based comic I read on this forum really. Great work!

Judge Dredd
11-10-06, 02:05
Wow, thanks, Surreal-8! I'm really glad you liked it so much. And what do you mean by "Searchman's OW", Angelstar.exe?

NetSaver.exe
11-10-06, 02:07
Searchman's Overworld in the Battle Network games.

Judge Dredd
11-10-06, 02:09
Oh you mean when you can control Searchman in the Internet? Not when he's in Battle Mode? I looked at those, and you can too, and they looked really bad for what I needed so that's why I chose Battle Mode Searchman.exe instead.

The Walrus
11-10-06, 17:43
That one was quite funny honestly.

@BBD- Alright, i'm sorry. I'll stop bashing the newbie's

Judge Dredd
11-10-06, 20:39
Thanks Angel of Ruin! I am working on a new comic right now...expect it by today or maybe tommorrow.

Judge Dredd
14-10-06, 02:25
Who has read Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451? I thought of a funny joke completly related to it and I want to see how many of my fellow spriters have read it. (You wouldn't get the joke without reading it first.) If you haven't, read it, it roxx!

Doogles
14-10-06, 02:31
I had to read it over the summer one year... but I didn't.

Judge Dredd
14-10-06, 03:02
I hope everyone who has read the book gets the joke...It's not very funny, but it was an idea.

Judge Dredd
14-10-06, 03:07
If you don't get the joke please don't blam my comic.

[fish in space]
14-10-06, 03:21
I'm not blamming but isn't "animal farm" a video game?

Judge Dredd
14-10-06, 03:26
No that was Barnyard i think and trust me I wouldn't use a video game in a book-based comic. i read animal farm recently and i really enjoyed it. i did of my own will but sometime this year i have to read it again in class.

Fluttershy
14-10-06, 03:34
Yea, Animal Farm is a book. I had to read it in 8th grade and again in 12th grade. It is pretty sophisticated (sp?) if you can get past the talking animals.

NetSaver.exe
14-10-06, 03:35
I finished reading Animal Farm about a week ago. I actually liked it. Snowball was my favorite character.

GameSaver
14-10-06, 03:57
I like how the door opens the wrong way. Animal Farm is okay, but I got confused sometimes with it.

Judge Dredd
14-10-06, 15:15
Aw man...the doorknob on the wrong way thing was a TOTAL mistake, but I'm glad you liked it, GameSaver.

AndromedaMan
14-10-06, 18:51
But isn't this a MMBN comic?

Judge Dredd
14-10-06, 18:52
Umm...that's what this thread's title is...but I didn't use BN sprites for all of the comics.
