Holy cock, even the hideous new character and stupid vehicle bits look ok.
Thin Eggman = ....Hmm..... It can work. Maybe.
Regarding creatures= Oh fuck, not bloody Black Doom's lot again.
Regarding chance of Black Doom being in it= At least it gives me more chances to yell "NEXT TIME, GADGET!" every time he speaks.
BEHOLD! I BRING THEE SCREEN CAPS!

Hmm, actually Eggman looks pretty cool. Unfortunately its not the Eggman we ... wait stop right there.. ROBOTNIK, we know and love.
Oh, and can they please go back to not including humans bar Robotnik again, PLEASE? It's getting irritating, because it makes Sonic look out of place on his own world.
On the plus side - drool-worthy graphics. Can't help but imagine those style of graphics.... which the serious gameplay issues previous 3d Sonic games have. (Sorry, it'll take alot to convince me Sonic Team aren't crap again.)
Taking bets for the "fall through floor bug" that Sonic Heroes had to be present in this game.
Come on, 50/50 chance, taking all bets!

WHOA!!! Who's that? Is that like... a fusion of Sonic and Shadow?

"Fall through floor" bug? Huh? Never heard of it. What's the bug?

Obviously you haven't played Heroes enough.
Happens several times through the course of the game, you jump, but you fall through the floor itself when you land. Happens mostly in 2 Player and the later stages. It's still a very frustrating bug, along with the ones where the characters randomly decided to jump off the plaftorm due to you catching the "B" button. ¬_¬;
Just to let you all know, I took those caps, you wont them on any games site.
I can't beleve I wanted Heroes, but when I got it I uh...tried to sell it...for 8 bucks, someone was gonna buy it but, they turned it down after playing it, I also tried to give it back to the store but I already had it for a month! Now....I'M STUCK WITH IT! But since it's still something, I'll keep it for now.

Ace- I have NEVER encountered the fall through floor glitch. It doesn't stop Heroes from being crap though.

I already have bigger/better screencaps than those already. :D
Ugh, that new Eggman design is horrible, way too realistic looking for a Sonic game IMO. That princess character is rather freaky too...like something out of Advent Children: Too realistic. And what's with the doon buggie? This is looking like a pumped up version of Shadow the hedgehog with more characters now. Yes, the in game graphics are lovely, but the decision to put Shadow n there still pissies me off. They should of left him dead in SA2.
Is it me, or does Eggman look like a bald, fatter version of Vash the stampede with a dodgy mustache?
IMO, I like the new Eggman design to a point, he looks more sinister and less of a joke of a villian.
If the fact that more characters have been added to this now annoys you, fear not as a Sonic title has just been annonced for the Wii:

1up seems to think it'll star Sonic and Sonic only, but Sega's site mencions Multiplayer features, so I doubt it. s long as Shadow isn't bloody in it.
At least this time they've only added one instead of three new characters.
Just watched the trailer, which was rather underwheming. It looked too much like a slight upgrade of the Sonic Adventure games to me, rather than a truely new sonic experience. I'm not quite as excited about this as I was a few months back now, as it doesn't look like much new to me, which is the problem I have had with just about every oher Next gen game I've seen so far.
(Except After Burner Climax, which is an update of a game hat's more than a few years old, and looks beautiful.)
The way things are going, we will almost never have a new console Sonic experiance, this is probably the best we can get.

He's a blue hedgehog who can run very fast, and jumps on robots to blow them up, and fights a big fat man who makes machines.
How many unique and enjoyable videogaming "experiences" could you possibly conjure up for such a character, without using pre-existing ideas, and not repeating yourself?
Exactly.
We should just be grateful we managed to get eight good ones out of them. (1,2,3K, CD, Advance 3, Rush, Adventure 1, 2)
Sonic Adventure was great, so what's so bad about a souped up one?
I for one am looking forwards to blowing the shit out of everything that so much as looks at me funny, at ludicrous speeds, with a custom soundtrack, while shit blows up around me with lovely graphics.
Incidentally, the soundtrack I will be using for Sonic will either be
- The fastest stuff I can find.
- As much 70's punk I can fit on the PS3/360 hard-drive
- To throw everything into contrast, SUNN O))). Ridiculously fast gameplay, to the slowest and loudest band on earth.
The next gen Sonic is one of the few next gen trailers that are currently making me hail in the new era. [Along with MGS4, as awesome plot+extreme violence+Solid Snake =fun] [And, if the trailer is actually game footage like they claim, which I doubt, then Killzone 2 looks fecking brilliant.]
Same here. And please let there be custom soundtracks...

PS3 will allow you to burn music to it for custom soundtracks, like the Xbox and 360 have.
However- You know that tiny X in the middle of the 360 pads? Press that at any point on any game, and you can load up your custom soundtracks.
Whether or not PS3 are doing that as well [Custom soundtrack for EVERY game] will affect what I buy Sonic for.
Along with MGS4, as awesome plot+extreme violence+Solid Snake =fun
Dont forget suicide over the PS3 cost!

I just noticed- Gaga, are you still calling Shadow a shit game despite that you haven't played it? :D
(I'm not saying that playing it will or will not change your opinions on it, I'm just saying you should actually play videogames you hate before you compare them to anything :D)
My opinions
Heroes- Terrible
Shadow- Enjoyable but swamped with bad elements. Namely the plot, lack of AI, lack of diversity in missions "KILL ALL THIS ENEMY!" "KILL ALL THAT ENEMY!" "GO THERE!" "FIND THOSE FOUR THINGS" "BLOW THOSE FIVE THINGS UP!" "KILL THIS AND THAT ENEMY!", useless vehicle system, and only barely useful gun system.
Other than that, the graphics ingame are ok, the CGI graphics are jaw dropping, the music kicks ass, even the screamo shit, and some of the levels are proper well fun.
Riders- The equivalent of Sega coming to your house, projectile vomiting on the ashes of your grandmother, and then taking a massive group shit in a massive potato sack and then forcing you to have sex with said sack.
Hence the insult "Sega called, they told you to shit in a bag and fuck it."
He's a blue hedgehog who can run very fast, and jumps on robots to blow them up, and fights a big fat man who makes machines.

What's wrong with a souped up Sonic Adventure? I dunno, maybe I was thinkin that could have improved on a game that was released SEVEN YEARS AGO more than just the graphics. What I'm talking about is even though we could accept SA/SA2's fails back then, why should we be still suffering such flaws now? Lovely graphics don't make everything, and so far this doesn't even look likethat mch of a leap in that department. Ooh, grass particles! What I mean by "new" sonic experiences is something that doesn't just invovle holding the up button and jumping once in a while. I'm not writing off he 360/PS3 title yet, but I'm starting to have some doubt that this will be anything partiuclay spaial like Sonic Adventure was when released.
Oh, and some actual explination to why Riders is so shit would be nice, oher than just seeing how much many times you can swear in a paragraph about it.

Five.
Fair enough.
- Useless story mode.
- Cretinous plot
- The Multiplayer isn't fun. At all.
- Utterly ATTROCIOUS track design.
- Disgustingly insulting mechanics.
- AI controlled characters never need to use pit stops, or need to slow down at parts you will fall into the abyss no matter what ludicrously slow speed you go at.
- Awful controls.
- An erratic difficulty that leads you into thinking the game is on it's period.
- Terrible new characters.
- I'd like to mention the controls again, as they are awful to a suicidal degree.
- Shockingly bad audio
- The words "Extreme Gear" make me want to vomit streams of acid upwards and then wait for it to come back down so I can see if I can keep my eyes open while it ruins them.
- The "Take SSX and smash F-Zero into it" gameplay idea does not work.
- Pit stops. You're supposed to be going along at ludicrous speeds, not having to stop suddenly because one jump and two tricks has rendered you immobile
- The trick system is even more disgustingly bad than the horrifying track design.
- Not even the ability to play as NiGHTS feels rewarding.
Or, to sum it all up.
Sonic Riders is a bad game because it isn't enjoyable in the slightest.
However, this is of course my opinion, and do with it as you see fit.
That's better. The game defiantly takes some time to get used to, and the level's are frustratingly designed, so I agree with you there.

I spent three days on it, as I was DESPERATE to find some sort of enjoyment from that game. Considering I had been looking forwards to it for ages, and I had looked all morning for it, I was fanatically posessed to make it meet my expectations.
Chris: How are you coping?
Me: I've had to restart this track 17 fucking times. I know this BECAUSE I COUNTED.
Chris: it can't be that hard
(thirty seconds later)
Chris: HOLY. BALLS.
Alas.
What was even more upsetting was that every single level was like this. There honestly wasn't a single track on it I enjoyed. The only enjoyment I got from it was
One- "Oooooooooooo, playing with Shadow's hover boots is nice!"
Two- "Holy hell, look, I'm frigging NiGHTS! ACE!"
Three- I traded it for some very good games :D
Oh, and as if it wasn't bad enough that Sega were going to continue turning kids into furries, and generating WEIRD sexual festishes in basement dwelling virgins by giving Rouge a sports bra, they have given her board, and her tricks, and her taunts, the most unintentionally "brilliant" names/lines ever.

Personally, I liked Sonic Heroes. Especially the end, where you fight Metal Overlord. But, that's my opion, and I'm only 13.
Someone I watch on Devart has posted a journal on excatly what I was trying to word about why this next gen Sonic title is starting to look less and less impressive, in words I didn't manage to put down.
http://anotherblazehedgehog.deviantart.com/journal/8730741/
Shortening down what he said:
* Hopes for all new gaming mechanics are almost gone, as it looks as though it play just like the seven year old Sonic adventure.
* The story is nothing more than a mix of previous games stories.
* Eggman looks too sinister, almost to the point where he looks like some sort of pedo. What happened to the intelligent but daft eggman we once knew?
* Sega saying this is like a "re-birth" of the francise is codswhollop, as too much of it is like what we've had before with barely any thoughts into how they could improve the gameplay style or anything much other than the visuals.
* If Sega plan to release this in time for Sonic's 15th annversary, that means this game will have been in production for around a year. Can anyone say rushed? This certianly wouldn't be the first onic game rushed onto the market, but 12 months is a very short time for a "re-invention".

Bollocks, eh?
Something tells me that as long as Sonic games keep selling well (due to avid long-time fans), Sonic Team will take any chance it gets to make some quick dough. If you ask me, not buying any Sonic games at all would give them some kind of hint that they're doing something wrong... potentially, it would have the same effect as a slow, powerful kick in the crotch.
