That's Saturday Morning Sonic the Hedgehog, the series with Sally Acorn and co, for those not in the know. It's finally getting a DVD release in the form of a 4-disc box set containing both seasons sometime in 2007! Here's the source of this lovely news (http://saturdaymorningsonic.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=271#271).

I hope this means box sets of AOSTH will follow!

You know I've never seen that series! Hard to believe I know but it's true.
I suppose that's good news though and what AOSTH by the way?

AOSTH is "Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog", the other, much sillier series released at the same time. You know, the one with Scratch and Gronder in it.

Yea, I remember those. Good times, gooodd times.

Ad Majorem Sathanas Gloriam!
BRILLIANT news!
This calls for a celebratory cuppa tea, drunk from my jewel studded golden skullchalice, and a dance in the streets.
Back in a moment.

I do hope AOSTH comes too, so I shall be able to marvel to Baldry's "IIIIIII AM THE MIGHTY MIGHTY ROBOTNIIIIIK WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!", yell at Scratch's annoying laugh, and swear extensively at the lack of plot.

THANK BLOODY GOD.

Took them long enough.

On a side note, Sally was a much more awesome character in the cartoon than she ever was in Archie. Fact.

To the point that if anyone questions why I have "Sally Acorn Fan" in my signature, i'll simply state - SATAM Sally, I specifically hate what happened/s in Archie. Because that comic, sucks.

Now all we need is Aosth. Scratch, Grounder, and animation's sexist Dr "Long John" Robotnik.

That they were. I'm so happy they're making a DVD collection SATAM, i've missed that show

SAY WHAT! I've stopped getting those for too long now. *starts running to nearest comic book store*

Sonic the Comic, the British comic series that sadly stopped sometime ago.
Reasons it rocked:

- Richard Elson's artwork.
- Faithful game adaptations (well, 'cept their Sonic Adventure one)
- Amy Rose was a badass in it.
- Sonic's constant verbal abuse toward Tails ('Pixel Brain' should have become a 90's catchphrase)
- They also did comics of other Sega games: Decap Attack, Ecco, Wonder Boy, Shinobi, Streets of Rage, Golden Axe etc. Most of these had wonderful artwork.

Awesome, Sonic verbally abusing Tails'. That would instantly make a comic godly imo

Theres many ways to fuck up a character adaption.

Thats one of them. That's not MY Sally.:p

And the Sonic 3D adaption. Draken Empire  (Who were and still are five thousand times cooler than any of the guys Archie made)

The Sonic Adventure adaptation was still good, however unfaithful!

Some of the characters they made themselves were great as well (Tekno, Sidewinder and his flunkeys, Plunder, Grimer, etc)

I am filled with pride everytime I read an interview with Richard Elson and reading him say how great it was to see the STC tables being swamped with kids while all the other "Grown up" comic artists were looking over in contempt for no reason other than being there.

Oh yeah, and the Decap Attack strips? SUPERB.
"I HOPE YOU DIE ALONE ON A SPIKE!"

We need an STC thread at some point.
Or a Biohazard one (one of my fave characters :D)

You missed Brutus from the list. FAIL.

Kidding.

It's hard to get into the frame of mind of when Sonic was actually good, and try to piece together yourself just how the hell the games, comic and TV shows fit in the same universe.

Good times. And this box set will help me relive them. =D

GG Hendrix

Oh yeah, Brutus was cool too.

Why the hell haven't Elson and Kitching been forced at gunpoint to work for SEGA and make Sonic games?! They'd be the shit!

Incidentally, STCO is quite funky too.

Just incase you want to read the entire comic, or anyone else for that matter. Favourites villians of STC was the brotherhood of Metallix, because not only are they modelled after the greatest ever Sonic rival, but they were just bad arse too.

Indeed Archie is pretty crap compared to it what with
- Shadow becoming King and marrying Sally.
- Sonic becoming King and marrying Sally who gives birth to Manic and Sonia.
- Knuckles getting married to Jusuil or something.
- Whenever you get these "future" storylines, you know its not good.
- The original Dr. Robotnik died a very long long time ago.
- Sonic has had relationships with possibly every single Archie character if you really dug into it.
- Sonic becomes emo
- Scourge? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scourge_the_Hedgehog)

Anyway, even though I never got into Satam its nice to see its going to be released, although AOSTH would have been far more awesome IMO. I still have the Chaos Emerald Saga on VHS!

Incidentally, STCO is quite funky too.

I espically liked the recent update featuring Grimer, that was a cool story (shame they didn't show a conclusion to the last story they did with Sonic being bad-mouthed by the media)

They'll get onto it. :D

I think Knuckles having a DAUGHTER AND HALF SISTER AND SONIC'S "REAL" NAME BEING MAURICE shows how much of a firm grasp Archie has upon the world.

The fact that fans (and not just 9 years old, but people who have been fans of Sonic since Sonic the hedgehog) amazes me even more. Although Sonic's real name being Maurice shows the full extent the comic abuses the Sonic series.

Archie Sonic is sounding more and more like some werid fan fiction with every new story. I still own a bunch of them, but I stopped buying them from issue 98 (that issue of which was fantastic, as it was a more-or-less direct adaptation of the first 10 minutes of Sonic Adventure with art by SPAZ). One of the Super Specials had Sonic ending up in the Underground Universe, and another had him fighting Sabrina the Teenage Witch O_o

I know for a fact that a very young Gagaman sent some artwork in to STC.
I won't link... I can't be bothered.

GG Hendrix
19-09-06, 22:13
Yeah I done saw it.
I got all the issues on my computer as well.

Unfortunately, "Binning all my comics, fucking fuck, argha!" isn't a good enough reason to beat my mother to death with a hammer.

I have a more or less complete collection (well, issues 1-about the point they started just repeating old stories) sitting in a suitcase in me loft, as well as a bunch of spares under me bed. I ended up with 2 of most issues from collecting them myself, than buying someone elses collection at a boot sale. =D

Thing is, I have no idea if they are binned or in a box in either of my parent's attics.
I'm opting for "Mum binned it" as she's binned or broken tons of shit of mine :(

ANGST

I stopped collecting just before the Sonic Adventure adaptation actually. Not for lack of interest, just lack of being able to find the bugger and parents not wanting to subscribe (despite forking over the money to buy it every fortnight...hmm)

More ANGST!!!!111one

I started collecting from the issue before the one where they went up to the Death Egg and Ye Olde Battered Silver Sonic was there.
"It's meant to be me. Sad isn't it?"

And in other news

Badnik: You're not going to make us listen to Take That again are you sir?!

Sidewinder: I just pray he doesn't use his toxic waste.
Lightmare: Even Biohazard's not that stupid.
Biohazard: (is puking toxic waste everywhere) YEH FINK YER SMARTER DAN ME?!

What ever happened to the Cartoon with Manick and Sonia?

AKA Sonic Underground

In my dream world it was obliterated beyond recognition because every single thing about it with the exception of Robitnik's voice actor, and Maurice what's his face who does the voice of Sleet (Kif on Futurama), was the equivalent of a disease infested fanny.
ie- No one with any sense wanted to put their shit anywhere near it.

In the real world it got released on DVD because apparently people like it.
But then again people also like Busted, and modern American comedies.
ie- people have shit taste.

It amazes me they got Sean Connery to lend his voice to it (Knuckles' grandad).

Robotnik: TAKE HIM AWAY! AND ROBOTOCIZE HIM TWICE!

I own that box set. If only because it cost £5. Haven't watched any of the disks yet. What i've watched on POP has convinced me not to bother, XD

I have the theme tune stuck in my head now, except I dont know any of the lyrics, so it's just the chorus. On repeat.
:g-twitch:

I WANT TO DIE.
