Nintendo are said to be holding conferences for the Wii starting from today in Japan, then tomorrow in America, and finally in London this Friday, where they will reveal the launch date, price, launch titles, and maybe even more. This trend is reserved for all that will come out of these.

Some pre-show info:

* The Euro release has been predicted for the end of November at around £150.

* It's been said he console will be bundled with two controllers and a copy of Wii Sports.

* Sega have revealed their Virtual Console games that will be downloadable from day one to be: Sonic 1, Ristar, Toejam & Earl, Ecco, Golden Axe, Columns and Altered Beast. These details were leaked at the ESRB ratings website.

* Sega are also planning to reveal details on Sea Man 2 this Friday. The game was planned to be released on the PS2, but is now rumoured to be released on either the Wii, the DS, or both. The fact they are going to reveal this at the same time of the Nintendo conferences is rather co-rinky-dinky.

* Splinter Cell will be there at day one, so say Ubi-Soft.

Already saved up for this, but I'll be getting it a few months after its release more then likely. Christmas rush more then likely might stop me from getting it, I predict the wiis to be sold out pretty quick.

Dancing while smoking is not a smart course of action, so I will soon do a merry little jig & cough.

Two controllers? That is very good news.

Wii sports will definitely not be up my street when I'm sober.
But that + beer + mates = The Bees Knees.

Just waiting for Nintendo to confirm that owning this machine will probably guarrantee passage into whatever paradise actually is, and will probably enlarge your penis.

Time to start making room in my videogame area (and the room in general so I have space to swing around like a gimp in)

I really, really, really hope Mario Galaxy is launching.
If not, Zelda will keep me busy.

Gonna be getting one on release because I know for a fact they will go like hot cakes.

On working on saving up from one, but don't really want to buy one at day one. I'd rather wait and see what the best deal I can get is (I know Toys R Us usually do good bundles with free games), but I'm gonna try and getone pretty quick as they may be sold out by the end of Xmas (maybe).

My biggest problem is now deciding what games to get with it. I have my sights on one or two of the following: Rayman, Monkey Ball and Wario Ware.

No idea what I'm getting with it other than Zelda.

I need to get enough money for my US trip, my UCAS submissions and a new iPod (you can now play Pacman on them!) and THEN I'll be getting one of these!

hehehe..... I am seriously praying that Nintendo's smart enough to release the sucker before Christmas! I'm already ****ing excited over the idea of playing the Wii nonstop during my schools January Winter Term!

You'd buy another ipod before the ii? WHORE. You can play Pac-Man on just about everything anyway, big deal.

Oh, and I got the dates a tad wrong. The Japanese con is tomorrow just before the American one, not today.

You can now play Pacman on them!

I can play Sonic the Hedgehog on my mobile phone!

Plus, you've already got one, why bother with another one, what beats the statisfaction of playing Mega Drive and Snes games anyway?

gagaman

Yeah, even in the case of the Wii's Virtual console I'm not going to download games I could easily get/still have for my Mega Drive. N64 games, however..

No images online yet, but Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles has just been revealed for the console. About time Capcom showed some kind of support for it.

Oh, and accoring to IGN the japanese con will start in ourtime late tonight, and that there will be plenty of updates on it from then, all the way into tomorrow. I can't wait!

ZOMG I get to play 2 controllers just by buying the console?

I'm holding a party for the day I get this. Monkey Ball is a release game, right?

WIN.

Two controllers was the preditcion. Even the logo seems to hint that it would come with two controllers.

The Japanese con has been on, and it is stated that America will get the Wii first, in November, and the japanese wil get it on December 2. This means the Euro release will probably be mid-December.

Full details:
At last Nintendo fans know what they are in for in the land of the Rising Sun.

Surprisingly, Nintendo's next-gen Wii will hit North American shores before its homeland of Japan. The Wii will debut in Japan on December 2, 2006 at a price of 25,000 yen. This converts to about $213 US. However, it will not include the Wii Sports title -- this will be available for 4800 yen ($40).

Each Wii box will include: Wii console, Wiimote, Nunchaku, Wii AC adaptor, Wii A/V cable, Wii console stand, sensor bar, sensor bar stand, and 2 AA batteries.

The press conference is still going on and so far they've also revealed that additional Wii-Remote will cost 3800 yen ($32) and the Nunchuku attachment and the Virtual Console remote will be 1800 yen ($15) each. Zelda: Twilight Princess has a planned retail price of 6800 yen ($58).

In other news, many American newpapers this morning have revealed that the Wii will release in America November 19th for $250, bundled with WiiSports and one Wii-Mote (the only disapointment so far, me thinks). There is no confirmation from Nintendo on this, though, so we'll have to wait for the New York showing in a few hours time.

Also, Ninty has set up th official Wii.com now. Only the Japanese section is ready as ofthe monet, but it's worth a look to see videos of the Wii's interface, on which you can create your own character to save onto your Wii-mote, which can be used in games like WiiSports. There's also footage of the web broswer and even a Google Earth-like Weather report system, which is nice. There's more coming soon!

Excellent.

Me and some mates still plan on doing a "review" of it when it comes out.

And, yes, we will spend the first 40 minutes taking photos of it in various situations to show how bored/easily amused/mature we really are.
"I had a wii in the grate"
"Tom couldn't fit all of my wii in his mouth, so I put it in his hands as well."

Ahem, but expect captions for when we're actually playing with our wii (LOL OMG I DID IT AGAIN!!!!) to be something like.

Curly: Crikey, this is jolly good fun!
Bennet: Verily.
Hendrix: Holy motherfucking shit, I'm beating the shit oit of things by waving my hand bitch ass cunt!
Eastwood: Jesus Fuck!

oooooh...... this is going to be awesome! God..... I'm going to waste so much time on the older games by themselves, the addition of Twilight Princess and possibly Metroid Prime 3 and Wii Sports is going to totally kill me!

A shame that Wario Ware and Metroid won't be there from day one, considering that Wario Ware is on the Japanese release launch (translating delays?). Also, Metroid 3 was looking too much like 2 anyway, now it's said to be a 2007 game so they have time to improve it.

Just have to wait till tomorrow now to see what the UK price and date will be.

Translation? Wario only ever says "WHAAA!"

Anyway, I can't wait now the release is getting closer. At least we don't have to wait till March!

Those with a nervous disposition are advised to cry.

"UK, September 14, 2006 - Here's some cheerful news to finish off the end of all you European-types day. UK high street retailer Argos has flipped up a banner on its website, proclaiming, "Nintendo Wii: Launching March 2007". According to eagle-eyed ad-watchers, the banner previously read, "Nintendo Wii: Launching Winter 2006".

While we'd hardly count Argos as the most reliable source for Wii news, it's interesting (not to mention a little worrying) that the store has chosen to update its banner so close to Nintendo's official European Wii launch announcement, set to be made in London tomorrow during a press conference scheduled to begin at 12pm GMT.

Nintendo observers have been quick to point out that Wii launch details released so far seem to mirror the launch of the original DS in 2004, with the US recieving the handheld in November, closely followed by Japan in early December. Of course, that time around, the DS eventually hit Europe in March of the following year - a disturbing omen?

Before we slip on our shrouds and stomp around the garden ringing Nintendo's death knell, it's worth remember that nothing is set in stone until the company lays down its cards tomorrow. Rest assured, we'll be there in force for full, comprehensive coverage. Oh, and we'll also try and steal you all a Wii."

Merging with the Wii topic, because with all the news we're getting this week on it, we dont want a whole slew of topics flooding the board.

Some other sources have suggested that the console will be hitting sometime between November-December, but until the London show tomorrow we won't know offcialy from the horses mouth where ever this is true or not.

EURO DETAILS ARE HERE.

We get it December 8th (one week after Japan) and it will cost £179 in the UK and 249 Euros everywhere else, with WiiSports. Oh yes. My guess was between £150-200, and it's almost split right down the middle. Good times!

Just found this out at the live Euro blogging at IGN (which has been posted by an imbecile who thinks he's funny and actually gets paid by IGN UK to talk like that. (http://uk.wii.ign.com/articles/732/732732p1.html))

Games will cost between £35-39 (49-50 Euros). Sounds almost like we'll be getting less VC games though, with only 15 from day one, and "at the most" 10 per month after that. Oh well.

Going a bit of a different direction, i remember that should they release the Wii this march it would be like the 10th year anniversary of the same date the N64 was released. I'm wondering if i'll be a the same situation where i demand to have an N64 and ended up with a PC instead (not that i had many regrets seeing i could play an N64 at my friend's house at anytime), because currently i'm contemplating putting me dosh towards a laptop at the moment, or Uni fees at either rate.

This has been 53-second waste of your time. Sorry about that.

Gods be praised.

Confound you Argos, you decietful bastards!

December release is great news for me.
Reason I wont be able to afford this in October- Emperor gig. Plus the £300 I owe various sources.

November- Replacement guitar, pc pimp up.

But December- I have money :D

"WTF NOES?! NINTENDO R F4GS I NT FORGIVE!!!!!?!"

(hypervole, fuck off!)

I'm still never going to understand console fanboys.
But then again, arguing with them is useless.
Once more, my two cents.
XBox 360- Awesome computer, not too many awesome games at the moment, but they be coming. Only problem I have- Jesus Fuck, the games cost a bit.
PS3- ...Ok computer. Will probably have some good games. Launches with a handful of good ones. Needs improvement.
Wii- Call me a fanboy, but I see no visible flaw with this contraption or anything about it.

Surely Sony were joking about the games being $60-100 each. They WERE joking, weren't they?

A Grattan catalogue came through the post today, wit the Wii and a copy of Zelda for £279 (ouch), because they were obversely guessing on the console price, and that they over price everything in it anyway. The PS3, bundled with Sonic Next-Gen, was £559. It also still dated the release for November and was even doing a compo to win one! HAHA!
