The Playstation 3, sorry, "PLAYSTATION 3", won't be out over here until months after xmas. Bad move, Sony, BAD move.

Has there actually been any good news for this console in a while now?

Why does Europe get the worst of things concerning videogames when you consider how huge they've become over here? Bloody hell! The Xbox 360 had a week's delay between coming out in the US and in Europe, and Nintendo have already stated that they're hoping to keep the gap no more than four months... which is the same as the PS3. Hmm, there goes my point on that one! But at least they haven't pushed it back and back and it doesn't require a remortgaging to get one!

I highly doubt Nintendo is stupid enough to miss out on the Christmas rush.

That, and I'm pretty sure its been stated the release date was in November?

Hmm, not so sure, just going on Wikipedia said really! If it's coming out in November then I wonder when the marketing'll kick in?

I don't see anything about there being 4 months afterwards on Wikipedia..
And the fact they're holding a special event for the press in September...

You can't always trust what's posted at Wiki anyway. I never heard anything about a Wii delay on an of the game sites I go to.

A few pumpkins short of a pie are we Sony? Well it should give them the opportunity to try a more innovative looking controller (not holding my breath there though). Any changes in the price does anyone know?

Wii may be out in time for christmas you say? Good show i suppose.

A new controller just for Europe? Nah, it's still coming out in America and Japan this November, but we get last pick because of the PAL format and because they can't enough of that new format no one wants made.

Blue-ray's gonna fail. Your right gaga, nobody wants it. All people want is a game system. Not a new format. The funny thing is that sony's leader said the PS3 is a comp not a game console

The difference with the PS2 having DVD and the PS3 having Blue-Ray is that DVD was already a known format (if not hugely widespread as of yet) when the PS2 came out. This time, however, Blue Ray isn't even out over here yet, and the PS3 will be one of the first systems to use it, so we'll just get another UMD problem: people have just gotten used to DVD now, and Sony have had a hard enough time selling the UMD movie format to the public. Blue-ray are said to cost much more than DVDs, and there will only be the odd film using it within the next 6 months. Why are they bothering?

I dont even know what the fuck blue ray is.
(goes to look)
Oh...
Fuck HDTV!
My XBox 360 is plugged into a telly ALMOST AS OLD AS I AM, and the graphics look lovely.

(Although reading text on Dead Rising [the game was designed with HDTV in mind...Fucking Capcom!] is near impossible)

I think I better wait for them to remake the PS3 when they realize blue ray is a lost cause (as by then it will have games).

The reason PS3 is incorporating Blu-Ray: Xbox 360 is incorporating HD-DVD. Welcome to yet another format war, everybody!

I presume HD-DVD players will be ale to play non HD-DVDs, then. Also, I've heard that the HD-DVD extenstion Mircosoft is making will not play HD-DVD movies. That, and in in HD, DVD's will be cheaper to make than Blue-ray.

This not all that Sony are failing on...

It all seems to be going a little pear shape for them.

Coming from a Playstation fanboy, I'm really curious as to what the hell Sony's been thinking the past few months...... I've gone from being completely against Nintendo in every shape and form and following Sony blindly to practically having a hard-on for the Wii (hehe) and debating whether or not the PS3's going to be worth the price tag. I honestly can't think of a single thing that Sony's done right since they dropped the Boomerang a few months ago....

This could actually damage Sony's reputation more than you think:

It was meant to be the must-have gift this Christmas - an all-singing, all-dancing successor to the hugely successful PlayStation 2 videogame console. But thousands of parents must now look for new ideas after Sony announced that it was again delaying the launch of the long-awaited PlayStation 3 until next year.

They've effectively left the Christmas rush to Microsoft and possibly Nintendo as well. Now that's some intelligent business decisions!

Sony's really fucking everything up now, and there's also the fact that Dell and Apple are presumably furious at them for selling them six million batteries that have caused laptops to burst into flames. Am I not the only one who wants the company to give itself a kick up the arse?

(Guardian brownie points: this story made the front page and then got a full page overview. Oh, and they gave Dead Rising five stars)

Although I doubt it will happen, I'd rather see Sony slowly but painfully die out, rather than kicks themselves back into gear. The PS3 still has a chnace of being as big as their other consoles, but they sure seem to be going out of their way to do the oppersite. I'd like to see the Blue-Ray format and loss on profits for the console (I wonder how much PS3's cost to make?) make them so bankrupt they pull out of the console maker. REVENGE! FOR SEGA!

(Ok, so it was really Sega's fault to messing up, but Sony didn't help, taking away all their customers =Y).
