Sony are going to have a hard time trying to push the PS3, especially at that price when the 360 is more or less the same power but cheaper.

I think Ninty deserve to win it, and have another NES sized success on their hands, what with the new style of game play, cheap price, the fact that Ninty themselves are still such a strong brand, and in time great, new game experiences. This console war is also going to have a lot to do with the game downloads in store too, and the 360 has actually got quite a lot of good titles going for it now.

Console wars are about as predictable as the weather, though.

Everyone I know says Xbox360 or Playstation 3. When I say the Wii and list all the valid arguements (I don't wan't to make my post that long), I hear this:

"But the graphics on the Wii are the same as the gamecube. And it has a gay name."

...That's about the point when I kick them in the shin. People automatically assume that, since in english the word "Wii" sounds like a certain male genetalia, that it's gay, when they don't stop to consider that IT'S A BLOODY JAPANESE WORD.

And people seem to think that graphics make a game. They don't. In fact, games are looking better and better but getting less and less origional and fun. A modern game designer should make a game with the graphics of Final Fantasy VI, and spend all that time not making models to actually focus on gameplay and the storyline. That'd make one kickass game, if you ask me, and I'd so much rather buy it than Halo 3. Now I'm just ranting, though, so I'll shut up.

Nearly everyone I know agrees on the same principle.
In that
The ps3 will be good when the price goes down and games come out for it.
The 360 is great, but could do with more games.
The Wii is going to piss on the competition (pun intended) as it certainly looks the most fun. Which is the entire fucking point of a videogame console.

So, the only people I see slandering the Wii is on the internet.
I'm going to have to place a reservation the second they start, because I dont think there's a single gamer in town who isn;t going to get one (except for the chavs and children, but they have shit taste by default)

From this we have come to the conclusion

A) Anyone who claims to like videogames and doesn't get a Wii is a dick
B) "Internet Dwelling Console Fanboy Elitist Bastard" is another word for "virgin"

It's my 20th in November, so I'lm probably going to play the "Give me 100 quid," plot to the folks.
Going to have to be nice to my mum. Which involves going over to her place (ARGHAHRHRHGAGH!)

If the Wii does come out in October, I aint going to be able to afford it. (Going to the biggest gig of the year, and I'll be damned if what little money I have left after train tickets, gig tickets, hostel booking, isn't going on anything I can use to heighten my spiritual awareness [absinthe])

I know this forum board is filled with Nintendo fans but I have voted for Sony. Now hear me out, the Playstation brand is HUGE. People will buy it dispite it's price.
Yes, it's true that Nintendo are more innovative but they still have that stigma for making 'childish' games and in this generation of FIFA players, it's not going to go down well. The Playstation 3 isn't a video console, it's a fashion statement and that's why people will buy it.

Surreal-8 does have a point there. BUT! The Xbox 360 is already doing very, very well indeed (except in Japan. Obviously!) and actually looks better than the PS3. A lot of people will end up buying the PS3 because it's a PlayStation, even if it costs up to £500 (which I don't see chavs having that amount of money, and then a wireless broadband connection or a HDTV, but hey!), but there's a lot of people saying that the Wii might benefit from being everybody's second console, or something like that.

I just want Nintendo to win, actually! Sod Katuragi and the PS3's Vista-like hilariously bad delays!

If we're definatly still getting the Wii in Europe befiore Christmas, I can't see many people wanting to buy another rather expensive console 3-4 months down the line, now that we wont be getting the PS3 till March. Take note that this means only America and Japan will be getting the PS3 by Xmas, while every PAL area, that's Europe, Russia, the middle east, Africa and the soon to be renamed country of Irwin, won't.

Surely the Sony fanboys are getting tried of disapointment after disapointment with the console by now. Who actually wants this untested new format called Blue-Ray anyway?

That thus far has nothing remotely interesting on it.

Considering its £500 for console, plus all the gubbings needed, plus overtly expensive games means you'll be out of pocket even if you're Bill Gates.

If it comes down in price, i'd buy it. But seeing Sony's stubborness with the PSP I find that unlikely.

I've been un-interested in Final Fantasy since 8 (which sucked big time.) and GTA is coming out for the Xbox360 with more features, anyway.

FF12 looks great. But then again, so did 8 and 10. Time will tell.

The Wii has Zelda, SMB, Metroid, Mario and a really awesome price
The PS3 has MGS and FF(can't name anymore) and a really horrible price
The 360 has Halo and GTA and a fair price tag

Price and fan base will give the Wii the crown

@GG- 9 was awesome. It was the best gameplay wise imo though 7 beats all of the FF's with it's storyline

So far the Wii has interested me with: Wario Ware, Rayman, Sonic, Excite Truck, Monkey Ball and of course Smash Bros.

The 360's live arcade is the most interesting thing to me about that system, but most of the games so far haven't excited me in the slightest. If it gets After Burner Climax though, I'm sold.

The PS3 has nothing I'm interested in at all, except maybe the odd Sega arcade port I could overwise live without.

Now lets see here.

Wii - Right SSBB seems nice, might grab myself a copy of that, Wario Ware has got me interested too. But what really bites the cake for me is the fact I'll be able to play Mega Drive and Super Nintendo games on it, thats more then sweet.

PS3 - Despite the high price, this one has the most new games I'm looking forward too, the list contains Sonic the Hedgehog, Metal Gear Solid 4, Armoured Core 4, Soul Calibur 4, Devil May Cry 4, Grand Theft Auto 4, Virtua Fighter 5, Resident Evil 5 and Final Fantasy XIII and yes, I notice alot of 4s in there, I did that on purpose, but am I willing to spend the needed money for them (as well as some Level 5 games and the team that developed ICO games) not sure really, which brings me to the final console.

Xbox360 - Short on the games I want so far with only Armoured Core 4, Sonic the Hedgehog, 99 Nights and Chromohounds. But think of it like this, if the PS3 does bad at the sales (what with the shipment being halved to 2 million to America with the Blue-ray shortage fiasco and Pal format not available tell March 07) then most companies would naturally jump the band wagon to Xbox360, thats only hypotetically speaking of course but Sony would be losing major grounds thanks to their screw ups.

I'd rather not speculate who I think is going to win, Sony's loyal fanboys might help them out some how, Nintendo's economically safe console may prevail over its rival or Microsoft may snatch some third part developers from Sony to gain those hard selling franchises. Undecided for now.

The plot is one of the most offensively stupid I have ever witnessed.
And while the game may give you several thousand enemies to beat the shit out of, it doesn't give you a lot of ways to do it.

It's fun for about ten minutes.

Get Dead Rising instead.

Like all weapons, the shopping trolley breaks (my complaints with the game are incredibly few. But stuff breaking far too early is one of them) but if you charge at a swarm of em, you can get about 30-40 kills before it breaks.

The trolley is also useful for a melee weapon or projectile.

One of the bosses uses a custom shopping trolley filled with weapons and covered with spikes and shit. When you beat him you can have it.

Stupidest thing about the weapons breaking- If you find the katana, you can chop hordes of zombies into pieces (LITERALLY. Slice right through them!) and yet it breaks...

A good sign for Nintendo: A lot of people who are choosing between the 360 and the PS3 are also considering the Wii as a 2nd place choice, rather than flat out ignoring it. So if everyone who buys a 360 or a PS3 (or at least a 360, you might not have money left after the PS3) gets a Wii, the Wii wins! XD

GG Hendrix has hit the nail right on the head with that last statement. People forget that for every Nintendo fan there is there are 3 Playstation fans. They will pay £500+ and Sony will be rubbing their hands, watching the money pour in.

Sony will only be in trouble if they really screw over their fanbase but the average Sony fan is too wrapped up in the propaganda to care.
