View Full Version : Bosses who are right pricks.

Who are the hardest game bosses that you've faced?
. Two hard ones off the top of my head. I distinctly recall some of the bosses in rocket knight adventures being a right bunch of CUnexttuesdays especially Axel.
. Kintaro and Shao Khan are also bastards.
. And Gill from SF3 along with shin akuma in SSF2turbo. I hear SNK bosses are harder.

Gil from SF3 had me yelling.
The fucking clone on DOA4.
Penance from FFX (One of the few good things about that game)
Indalecio from Star Ocean 2 is the hardest that comes to mind... I'll come back when I do some thinking.
One of the hidden levels on Omega Boost had a near impossible boss.

Rocket Knight Adventures? Probably because I've beaten the games so much, the only boss that comes close to killing me is Axel Gear's Mech.
And the fact I can nearly speed-run the SNES Sparkster says much too.
That said - the final boss of that game is a right *AGHAUGHAShFSAFJAfAcMEGamna!!!*
Just to annoy Gaga - Wily from Megaman 7. Consider you do two points of damage to him where he does 3 upwards to you AND his attacks give status effects, makes him, BLOODY ANNOYING.
In Sonic - Chemical Plant zone boss. The fact you can die while entering the boss fight AND after the boss fight, is just plain.. irritating.
And heaven help you if you bring Tails into the fight.
Other nasty bosses include:
The BoosterBall Boss from Metroid Prime 2, Andross from Lylat Wars (altough this is mostly due to several times that I get to him, he glitches up and becomes immortal. I seriously doubt a boss would be still alive after shooting the damn thing for half an hour.), and to further annoy Gaga -
Flame Hynard from Megaman X7.
"BURN BURN! BURN TO THE GROUND! BURN BURN! BURN TO THE GROUND! BURN BURN! BURN TO THE GROUND! BURN BURN! BURN TO THE GROUND! BURN BURN! BURN TO THE GROUND! BURN BURN! BURN TO THE GROUND!"
Times by the fact theres THREE of him saying it all the time, and that he's annoying enough to defeat anyway. Ergh. Makes you want to use the disk as a frisbee. (The games bad enough to warrant that.)

For some reason, in Doom 3, the Guardian of Hell was harder than the Cyberdemon. The stupid sentries just wouldn't sit still long enough. >.<

MM&B Wily- I'm convinced that it's impossible
Dhaos' Second form in TOP on mania mode, He has 390,000 HP and i was using Cless
Xaldin(the guy with the lances) from KH2. God he is a fucking pain!!!
Riku Akiyama
04-09-06, 22:41
Xaldin is indeed a penis jockey
Replica Riku V3 or V4 from Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories (I seriously had to buy a new GBA)
Copy Ekkusu (X) from Rockman Zero while trying to get Jackson on Hard mode

To further annoy Gaga...
...and to further annoy Gaga -
Flame Hynard from Megaman X7.
BURN TO THE GROUND!BURN TO THE GROUND!BURN TO THE GROUND!

What? I mean, he was annoying, sure, but Zero's stupidly powerful lightning attack makes him rediculously easy.
Now, that said...
FFI - Chaos: I don't care if he's the final boss. Nobody should be able to fully cure themselves on a whim. Especially when they have way too much health in the first ****ing place!
Prince of Persia: Warrior Within: Unless you're on easy mode, every boss is way to hard, but that creepy woman in black (I haven't gotten that far if you couldn't tell) is just ****ing stupid, especially when she's pushing the Empress of Time off of the edge whenever she gets the chance, and can frequently kick you away (whether or not you're blocking) and either off the cliff or into a wall. While you're stunned, (or dead) she easily has time to push off the empress a little more. Meanwhile, it takes a minute to safely bring her health down 1/20 of the way.
CHEAP!
PoP: The Two Thrones: While I considered this fight fair anyway, it was freaking difficult, especially when you didn't know what to do/were in hard mode. I'm talking about the fight where you face the armored sword guy and armored axe guy at the same time. You're supposed to figure out that you have to attack the dude with the sword (who blocks all hits) to make the dude with the axe smite the ground you're on a second before he attacks, (run away!) getting his axe stuck in the ground. Then you have to hit him (who is otherwise as invulnerable as the sword dude) while the sword guy tries to kill you. After doing that over and over (surrounded by a circle of fire, by the way) several times, you have to do a stealth attack (I'm not gonna bother explaining) on both of them at the same time. If you fail the sequence with extremely akward timing, you're thrown off and axe dude recovers some health. Mind you, I went through the game on hard mode first, without using a guide of any kind. So yeah, you can see why I'd take the time to rant about them for awhile while I should be spending my time reading Brave New World for school by tomorrow.
Erm... sorry Gaga, but anyone who's played Megaman knows that Fireman and Megaman I Wily are rediculously hard without the Ice Slasher/Select Cheat.
I'm sure I've faced harder, but I find myself hardpressed not to be too lazy to remember.
You know, talking about Megaman games in topics like this don't annoy me, it's when people bring megaman up in completely irrelevant topics.
Example:
"Who's your favorite band?"
"The band that did the music in the Megaman X7 OST!"
As for hard as annoying as heck bosses:
The 2nd form of the final boss in Marvel vs Capcom 2. All he does is traps you in the corner with lasers and doesn't let you near him. His an annoying little cheap bitch, although I did come up with a few techniques that sort him out:
1) Once I played Tron Bonnie, kept jumping to the other side of him and hitting him before he turns around. I somehow managed to stop him doping any moves this way, although I haven't been able to do it again since.
2) It helps to have long range characters to fight him with, such as cable or Gambit, because then you can just keep on blocking then shooting the bastard.
Another one: While Bison as the Capcom boss is no problem, Geese as the SNK boss in Capcom Vs SNK 1 is a pain in the arse. Whenever you jump towards him he gets you with his darn floor blade power thingy move.
Gill from Street Fighter III. Resurrection. Nuff said.
Wild Ragul (?) in Capcom Vs SNK 2. I got him after 45 minutes minutes of trying in the end, but only with Mr.Cheap (Read: Ryu). He has moves that are impossible to block, like that proxy spinning kick he does every 3 seconds.
We can just conclude that Capcom have a habit of making their fighters easy to lough through, then make you spend hours on the final stage. I've actually never had too many problems with SNK bosses, myself. The one in King of Fighters 2000 was so easy it wasn't even funny.

Gill is so hard it's not even funny.
"You're going down, you thong wearing tosser!"
"BAM YOU'RE ALL DEAD!"
What is the line he says, I haven't played for a while?
"The (something) of my purity will scar thy DNA."
Xaldin from KH2... I got lucky and was able to summon Mickey into the battle 3 times.
Jinpachi from Tekken 5... god if there ever was a boss to piss me off.
And I just had a pretty rough time with the first fight with T-elos in Xenosaga III.
Actually now that I think about it though, that stupid wall you fought in Temple of the Ancients in FFVII really pissed me off. I think I fought it at least 20 times before getting it right. Of course it was my first time through the game and during that point in time I always severely overloaded my party with materia and didn't level up.

"The (something) of my purity will scar thy DNA."
The mark of my dignity shall scar thy DNA
When you hear him say "let me be the blesser of all souls" you know you're screwed.

Don't think the doom series offers particularly hard bosses if you ask me. You can even beat the spiderdemon in the old doom starting off with just a pistol.

Cackletta Spirit in Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga.
Both your characters are at 1hp when the battle starts (this is unavoidable), and then the boss gets to do 3-5 very hard to dodge moves, meaning you die even before the battle starts.
The Walrus

The moves aren't that hard to dodge. I died 3-4 times before i was able to dodge her every move
Omega Rugal in KOF2002, god it so good to kill him after losing so many times.
Death in Castlevania:Lament Of Innocence. I had a hard time on him for DAYS so I gave up and came back to it in a few months and found out I can doge EVERY ONE of his attacks.

Well, I suppose. I'm just not that good. ;)
But seriously, the Guardian of Hell has the ridiculous requirement of "kill the seekers to get rid of the demon's invincibility." I've wasted too many rockets and BFG shots just trying to hit the seekers, much less hit the glowing orb that hovers over the Guardian when all the seekers are being regenerated.
Death in Castlevania:Lament Of Innocence. I had a hard time on him for DAYS so I gave up and came back to it in a few months and found out I can doge EVERY ONE of his attacks.
It took me FOREVER to beat him, and i still can't dodge his scythe attack
-The last boss in Werewolf: the last warrior
-Joachim Armster in Castlevania: Lament of Innocence
-Walter in Castlevania: Lament of Innocence
-Every Boss in Karnov
-Karmine in Crystalis
You had a hard time with WALTER?! I can beat him without being TOUCHED!
Just his attack were he shoots fire everywhere (which he seems to do ALL the time against me)
When you see him about to do that just run to the oposite end of the room as fast as you can and it'll almost always miss you.

FFX : That one monstrous thing at the monster catcher's place. Even after developing a strategy to go through with a Tidus that had Auto-Life and 1MP Cost that could last virtually forever, I gave up after 2 hours. 2 Hours and so much damage done... The think freaking kills all of your characters with almost every move! I don't even know if you're supposed to be able to beat it!
Edit: Forgive my spelling, as I am tired as fauk.
Yggdrassil and Kratos (in the tower of salvation) on Tales of Symphonia, my days i was swearing at the tv screen tryin to fight those two!
dont know the name exactly but that final monster in DooM 3, so bloody annoying!!

Yeah, most of the monster farm's enemies are meant to be ridiculous to beat, although maxing the sphere grid on 3 characters worked just fine for me.
As for bosses that are real jackasses, one that comes to my mind is this one boss from Xenosaga Episode One that I can't seem to name right now and that bastard final boss from Shinobi for PS2. Those guys hyad me pulling out my hair!!!

...that bastard final boss from Shinobi for PS2. Those guys had me pulling out my hair!!!
Don't even remind me of that. That boss took me so long to beat...
Blargh.
As for my new hard boss - every single boss in Contra (except the first, I guess) is way too freaking hard.
Then again, the entire game is...
And that bastard final boss from Shinobi for PS2. Those guys hyad me pulling out my hair!!!
Forgive me if I say he was one of the more easier bosses I've played, in hard mode yes he is more of a bastard, but in normal, once you've got a full sword powered up, he only takes two hits
His even easier with Joe or Moritsune (easpically Moritsune considering his sword even more powerful)
As for bosses who are right pricks.
- first level boss on Sonic 2 for the Game Gear, the fact his the first level boss and the hardest of the ENTIRE game really says something.
- Also found the boss in the parking lot in Nightshade on hard mode hard (and obviously so)
- Couple of bosses from Star Ocean 3 but only because I couldn't be bothered to level up my characters.
I'd say more but I can't remember some of them right now.
-the first boss in Karnov
-For those who've played Crystalis, they'll know that if you're even ONE level under what you should be any boss is either invincible or just fucking ridiculous
-3rd level boss from Werewolf: The Last Warrior
-Half of the bosses in Zelda 2
-The last boss of Jak II
-Serris from Metroid Fusion
-Mother Brain in Metroid Zero Mission
-Kraft from Mega Man Zero 4
-EVERY SINGLE BOSS IN NINJA GAIDEN FOR THE XBOX!!!
-Yakuza in Metroid Fusion
-The SA-X in metroid fusion(the actual fight not those run-ins you have throughout the game)
Progress Pending i remember the Sa-X being fairly easy and who's serris
That big eel thing in the aqua sector that gives you the speed booster
Oh yea that thing was really annoying and then I realized how to dodge it easily the it was funny.
I can avoid him until he gets really weak then he just goes crazy

In order from most to least unfair:
1. Smash TV - Every boss except Mutoid Man
I think I've played this game 1000 times and only made it to the last boss once. I've never beaten him, though.
2. Capcom vs SNK 2 - Ultimate Rugal
Cheaper than Ryu in the original Street Fighter 2. I've beaten him with Dan, though . But that's because Dan is the strongest fighter of them all. Seriously, he's the ONLY self-taught fighter of the bunch.
3. Star Ocean 2 - Indalecio
Actually he's much easier if you fight him at a low level; he levels up with you. At level 50-ish, he's easily doable if you stock up on your Skandas and Mirror Slice him to death. At level 90 he's absolutely disgusting. He pulls off a single Explode and you're scrambling to heal everyone.
4. Final Fantasy 8 - Omega Weapon
Two words. Terra Break. *shudder*
5. Tekken 5 - Jinpachi
If this bastard stuns me one more time, I swear I'm going to start practicing on Namco game designers. He's only this low on the list because some characters can cheap him to death so easily.
I just remembered another one. Nevan from DMC3. That bitch had me going at her for hours... ok that sounded wrong.
Night Terror from Soul Caliber III.
Oh and Jace... Ex Fucking dee
I can't even GET to Night Terror let alone fit him/her/it.
Rainbow Dash
10-10-06, 03:07
Oh, Night Terror's really quite easy, with the right technique. Use a samurai, and do that move where you crouch and run forward and then swing up you're katana (it involves k+b, or is k+b). It's cheap, but then again, so is Night Terror.

Bass BX from BN6 even though i beat him with a crappy folder. HE MOVES TOO FAST!
ZX- Pandora and Prometheus Team fight on hard. No fun at all. Even omega's easier than them
X6- High Max, before getting any special weapons
Solarblade

ZX- Pandora and Prometheus Team fight on hard. No fun at all. Even omega's easier than them
I'm at them too ><. I've found a way to beat them without getting touched, but I can't do it ><.
Beside that boss, I'd pick the final boss in the first Pikmin. Lets just say he mass slaughters pikmin. WITH HIS TOUNGE><!!!!!!!
And the Booster Ball guardin. The final boss is easier ><.

Why does everyone say the booster ball guardian is hard? I beat him easily on my first try
Couple of bosses from Star Ocean 3 but only because I couldn't be bothered to level up my characters.
The only reason they are hard is because Star Ocean 3 doesn't really urge you to level up thanks to the main lack of EXP. Star Ocean 2 did a much better job in my opinion.

I'd say the right pricks aren't the hard ones, but the fun ones!
But anyways...
The hardest boss I ever fought was hm.. Forte.exe in Megaman Network Transmission X_X I never could beat him.
Shizel and Sekundes from Tales of Eternia.
someone help me out here if youve played this before (im looking at you angel, ass you mustve played this!) aint there a similarity with sekundes and dhaos!!

Beat him at level 70 or so with Fayt, Maria + Sophia. He took a few tries before he died. And yeah I agree, the game doesn't urge you to level up and so some areas will get extremely annoying (Sphere Company) and the fact I don't like the "MP kill" considering the fact that half the bosses are easier to kill when hitting down their HP instead of MP while characters like Cliff are laughable with the amount of MP they have. See this is why I hate some RPG style gameplay, is more about how high your level is then how skilled you are at the game.
