Well, it's a bit late to post this, but it does seem like a lot of the members here have already heard of it.

Megaman New Horizon is a fan-based game project developed by Alternate Universe Design Studios for Game Boy Advance. Megaman New Horizon brings you to a whole new world, far, far away from Earth, where new adventures await our reploid hero Mega Man X. At the beginning of the game Mega Man X finds himself at the beginning of the Great War. Huge maverick forces are attacking Elysium, the capital of New Horizon. But even though the hour is dark and the circumstances are desperate, Mega Man X is ready to fight once more to fulfil the promise of a better tomorrow.

And that's what the game is about basically. Of course, this is still just a demo, and we're constantly trying to improve what we've got. So, here's the link to the site:

http://www.megaman-newhorizon.com/

And here's were you can download the game:

Also, for some reason, people have been wondering why Capcom allows any fangames... well, by people, I mean the Undersquare members. But, here's the reason, copied from Capcom's own site!

Capcom does not object to you creating a website which may contain reference to Capcom games or characters, with the understanding that this is done as a personal activity and that you do not intend to receive revenue by this use of our property. Also, we will not object to the website as long as it is not obscene, defamatory, libelous, offensive or slanderous towards Capcom, our products, or employees, or any third party; or violate any intellectual property right or a person's right of publicity or privacy. This policy is in no way meant to be interpreted as creating an agreement or grant of license from Capcom to you. So if you are a fan of Capcom games, and you have a website that you would like to create, Capcom will not object so long as you are working within the above stated criteria.

So please, tell us what you think of the game! :)

This game should be pretty awesome once it's done!

I just don't like how slow it goes... especially the shooting speed.

I have a question for all of you though:

Creating a game involves a lot of work in different areas, writing, art, music, programming, etc… not on that, each main area contains several sub-areas; like designing characters, weapons, abilities, enemies, bosses/mavericks, sprite creation, art, game layout, game story, cities and their organizations and history… the list goes on and on…

As a Mega Man FAN, what would you find would be the most fun with creating a Mega Man game? What sub-area(s) would you like to do and why do you find that particular thing most interesting.

The reason I ask is because I'd like to know what you guys think would be the most fun to do. I know different people likes different things but the information would still be most interesting to me, and to us at A.U.D. Studios.

I wish I knew how to answer your question. But I have a quick question of my own. What's with the tiger looking thing at the end of the level? All it does is run back and forth.

To answer your thought-intruging question (Not your question Jace), I like doing level design and boss/enemy programming. I've always wanted to make my own levels, so I decide to get into Game Programming for a career. And I find it fun to make enemies and bosses.

Well now that I know what you meant by reading Solar's post. I personnally like character designing and plot designing. But what I really love would be to make the graphics just like what Solar said. Which is why I'm trying to get into a colledge like full sail for graphic design.

Off-Topic: Full Sail kicks ass, the video game mag i get had a 4 page thing on it. They play video games for an hour, talk games for a few hours then work. How fucking awesome is that?

On-Topic: I wonder if they'll fix the problem with X taking damage. 3 Hits from the red droids and he's dead

I'm pretty sure that's the boss; he just isn't fully programmed yet.

If he is, then that would be a little strange 'cause there are a bunch of people in the background just watching him pounce around like he's a pet.

When i played the demo i thought thespeed was good but only the buster was to slow and he climbs up the stairs pretty fast (And kinda looks wierd:g-O_o: ) but other than that i like the sprites alot!

The game is well-made but it needs to progress... 'cause right now... It sucks pretty much x_x sorry.

If you tell us how, we can make it suck less. :P

And yes, that's Hellcry Lional running around at the end. He's gonna be a boss similer in the way Vile was in MMX1. (But, you can actually win the fight, you just can't lose.)

The people in the background will be more animated, or updated to show panic. Right now, they're just conveying the idea that people will be there.

Thanks for all the comments!

You're not the first person to say this and I'm truly surprised that so many people like this sprite... especially since its a "let-make-a-sprite-sheet-quickly-so-that-we-have-something-to-use" kind of thing...

I wish I knew how to answer your question. But I have a quick question of my own. What's with the tiger looking thing at the end of the level? All it does is run back and forth.
He will do much more once we're through with him...

It's already been fixed in the latest uploaded version of the demo... I guess we made the red enemies a little bit tooooo tough...

The game is well-made but it needs to progress... 'cause right now... It sucks pretty much x_x sorry.
Don't be too hard on us, we work on it as much as we can... it's not that easy... it's pretty hard work you know, and I've heard rumours that this is so hard that some people are actually doing this for a living and earning money for it... strange though, we've working o this for 3 year and for free... Kidding aside, we'll making improvement as fast as we go, but before we start making some major updates to the stage we want to fix X and all his movements into perfection first…

Hey Lysezoid, long....long time no see. XD We talked once a long time ago... I was the annoying guy working on Zero Tolerance. ANyways, I find the most fun in coming up with the mechanics of the game, like for example in my current project Megaman ZT... I've been going over a bunch of old MM concepts and developing htem for MMX style mavericks, along with developing ideas for weapon copy dna intepreation for the heroes.

I might be the only one who thinks this but...

X looks horrible, well not too bad but I don't feel comfortable using him cuz he looks weird jumping, his x-buster is too big, and his head is huge.

His running sprites look funny too and his stance looks funny looking because who in the world would stand like that cuz it looks like he is standing up with his legs spread apart.

I really would like to re-design his sprites, I would change his look I would just change how the sprite actions cuz it looks weird.

But the game is great but there is still alot of problems but I believe in this game to be REALLY GOOD, and hope you finish.

Will X get armor enhancements and can I re-sprite him PLEASE I AM BEGGING YOU!

Sry for the double post but here is a sprite of your version of X but in a diffrent style.

I can re-sprite everything, just give me a chance and that pic is just how it would look in game.

So what do u think and I hope I don't get in trouble for spriting that, I just did it to see how it would look and I am sorry if it was wrong.

Blackbeltdude

You didn't need to double post after only about 30 minuets... if that clock is right... Just edit your post next time please.

And Much of the staff doesn't like the current X, as Lyse mentioned.

The sprite you posted isn't too bad I guess, but the main problem is that you didn't scratch it. All the sprites in the game need to be scratched.

Also, Robert Oakes did a redesign of X that me and Lyse are pretty happy with. (Right now, I only know that me and Lyse have seen it, so I don't know about the rest of the staff.)

However, you can submit other sprites to us if you're interested in joining the team. But, all sprites submitted need to be in MMZ/MMZX style and must be made from scratch.

No, just program. (Only know how with Game Maker though I am trying to learn C++ though.) And level design :D . Working on improving my spriting skills though.

The game looks good, but I haven't played it yet. Plan on it soon though. I think.

Also, yea, work on prefecting the movement and such first. Then everything else tends to get done faster. Execpt for sprites.

I know... just like BBD said, we are not very happy about our current X sprite... it was created more than a year ago, and we always knew we'd need to redo it eventually. We've tried to make a new sprite of X a couple of times (7 times I think to be exact) but none turned out the way we wanted to until now… just like BBD said, Oakie620 just created a new sprite of X that we love and he's currently working on its complete sprite-sheet…

I really would like to re-design his sprites, I would change his look I would just change how the sprite actions cuz it looks weird.

We have an "Open Audition" running right now for spriters... maybe you'd like to participate?

When will everyone else be able to see the new x sprite(s)? I really wanna see it

Oh yeah. Will only one person be chosen for the audition or will you select alll the people you think are the best?

We've made a new webpage, and demo-wise, we've finished all new sprites (several new enemies, and a new spritesheet of megaman and hellcry lional). The olny thing remaining is a bit of programming... I don't know about you guys but I can't wait to release the next demo...

Well, we're back on track with the project and we have several new things going. A lot of logos are being made, and the stuff for the game itself. There will also be a big surprise (and I don't mean a new released demo) in August...

Keep in touch!

That's good to hear. I already wondered why there was no progress on the game in the past few months.
Because while the game didn't appeal to me storywise yet, I really like the engine and design.

We've done several new updates to the webpage, added new concept art and description of the 8 mavericks that you will be able to see in our game.

The whole Character page and Concept Art page has been updated!

We are also running a concept art contest, where we want you to design our main boss: Oberon. Free style, 1st place gets 150 US dollars, 2nd place gets 100 US dollars and 3rd place gets 50 US dollars...

Deadline: August 31st!

The upcoming demo will have a totally new spritesheet of X, the Lional boss at the end of the game has been remade, and he will actually fight X as well, and much more enemies will be added. But unfortunately it takes time to finish, especially when you got a lot of other stuff to do, but we are doing our best...

Don't forget to visit the page soon!

I'm glad you guys swapped out Alouette for Dolly; sounds like a wise choice to me. I also really like X's new design. It's like a nice blend of Command Mission's design with the Zero series style. Thumbs up.

MegaMan New Horizon, or just MMNH, has divided into two different webpages:

1. Mega Man New Horizon: www.mmnh.com

2. New Horizon: www.the-newhorizon.com

From now on New Horizon (www.the-newhorizon.com) will only be about New Horizon, and it will not have anything to do with MegaMan. This world is what we want to grow and we are currently investing a lot of time and effort into this project.

MMNH (www.mmnh.com) will only be about the MegaMan New Horizon GameBoy Advance project, since this project is very much alive and a lot of new things will be done for the project in the future.
