I mentioned it over in Smeg head and got to thinking.
Anyone have any idea if this is ever going to leave Japan?

I really doubt it that it'll ever appear outside of Japan or China for that matter.

It'd be awesome if it did. I'd go buy it.

Or travel all the way to Japan/Hong Kong and get it there.

But then, it's not going to be translated.

Namco is gonna take the show. Capcom's only good characters is the game are Ryu and the other Street Fighters.

...I know someone who is going to Japan for school. Upon seeing that trailer, I considered telling him that I will kill him if he doesn't bring back that game.

Blame Sony and their "we hate 2D games unless you release them as compliations" thing.

Bloody Sony and their refusal to accept that not everyone outside Japan likes football/shooters/racers (though I am partial to the odd bit of driving and violence).
SOME OF US like proper games!

Its ITAdaki Street Special, and about Namco X Capcom, I own it and I heard from several confrences at e3 a long time ago, it was Namco's idea to keep it in Japan, Capcom wanted to port it at least to PAL (Europe) but Namco wouldn't budge.

Because Namco = Sony's whores, so whatever Sony says, Namco jump o their knees and lick their feet.

Also: I have no idea who 80% of the Namco characters in this game are.

ebay here i come!!!

Game looks so cool but its true! they dont really like releasing 2D games unless its a "classic collection" type game. majority of the games ive seen in japan that are 2D actually kick arse.and its not just sony, Microsoft AND Nintendo (gamecube) are at fault as well! they really need to do their homework and realise that alot of consumers do actually have more than one taste in games!!

Actually, the Gamecube just doesn't have many 2D games to start with, excluding Nintendo's own ones (Wario Ware, Four Swords). SNK made none, Capcom only did Capcom Vs SNK 2 for it. There's a good reason why too: the Gamecube controller was not made for 2D hardcore gamers stuff.

And I've seen loads of 2D fighters on the X-Box recently.

Same.
I'm no longer allowed to call myself a Master-Nerd.
Recognised just about every Capcom though, but who doesn't?

Probably helps that Capcom are always on one side of the VS crossovers. They even tried do to a Capcom Vs Capcom once (Read: Capcom Fighting Evolution).

Capcom VS Marvel VS Namco VS Nintendo VS Sega VS Whoever the hell else, would be a gamers wet dream.

Lets think...

Klonoa, Strider, and Akuma. WIN
