Attention modern cartoonists- Stop destroying our childhood memories, and giving the current generation SHITE to watch.

Known about this for ages, and not really surprised after the He-Man remake etc.

Also, Thundercats was not as good of a cartoon as people always make it out to be. Nostalgic? Yes. Any good? Heck no. Sorry, but it's the god and honest truth that could be appiled to quite a lot of 80's cartoons people rave on about all the time.

I loved Thundercats.
I hate a lot of 80's cartoons :D

I like the new He-Man if only for Skeletor. (My fave badguy ever :p)

The new He-Man was surprinsely decent, considering the shit it was based on. I can't belive I watched the original when I was a kid. I only really liked he big green cat thing in it though. And Skeletor of course.

I got one of my mates to lend me the Masters Of The Universe DVD his son bought.
Within thirty minutes everyone in the room is in complete hysterics.
And that was just because we kept playing the opening intro and first three minutes of the first episode.

All it did was feed my hatred of nostalgia (which truly isn't as good as it used to be) (HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, fuck, I'm funny) and resurrect my theory that the original Masters Of The Universe was stupid as hell, and Nazi propaganda.

In it's defense, the Masters Of The Universe movie was AWESOME :p

ugh...... this looks beyond horrible and must be considered a crime against humanity. I'll admit that the original does not deserve the hype it gets by old-school fans of the show, but I still have a lot of great memories as a kid watching the show. I just wish that people in the entertainment biz would develop a shred of originality rather than just rehashing the same 20 ideas over and over again.

..... I suppose that that'd be too much to ask for, I guess.

Looks horrible? Nothing of he new series has been shown yet. That clip n the site is of the original. I guess I can see why people would think this cartoon was awesome if they only remembered the intro seq, which is actually rather badarse. Shame that's where all the buget went, and the animation went down the toliet in the actual episodes. That, and the characters talked, it tried to have a plot that never made sense etc. A good intro scene and good theme is all you need, as far as the 80s go.

Tht clip also proves that "copying the Japanese" is by no means a new thing. If this cartoon wasn't animated somewhere in Asia, I'll eat my hat. Mind you, a lot of the 80's cartoons were more a case of outsourcing then copying. Even those alley cats in Healthcliff were distintively Japanese styled.

Also, I just read on that pagewhat the new series will be like. Ugh.

(Btw, moving to animation)

They're doing.. WHAT to Thundercats? I didn't like the cartoon, but from somewhere along the line, I had the comics that I remember enjoying..

Snarf.. the leader?.. pardon?!... does my mind need cleaning out with bleach!?
Rock Band? Anime-Teen-Titan-Styled?

You've... got to be kidding me. I thought the new Transformers was bad enough, but this..

You know what the only good thing about Transformers Armarda is?

They finally gave me something I've been waiting at least half my life for.
A toy of Unicron.

Was thundercats that show with that Mummy who was trying to kill those alien cat people and had that samurai who had something to do with the plot line that I never quite got? That show had the most retared plot line ever, I don't get how it could be worse.

I think we discussed this a while ago and we probably came to the same conclusion that they should stop taking it up the arse from the Japs.

As far as remakes go though TMNT has been the only decent series so far. Apart from the bright colours making it hard to look at, i think me and Aki could put forth a good arguement that it's better than the original (mostly since it keeps close to the original mature comics of the early 80s. Some TMNT purists feel the original cartoon is just watered down doo-doo in comparison).

Can't quite remember the original Thundercats,Heman or Transformers too well. I watched them a lot for sure, but i know they didn't hold a candle to TMNT for me, so i can't quite tell. Most accounts i've read up have given them thumbs up as far as the 80s go, if only to slag off Heman for being cheesy.

Out of the 80's, Transformers is by far and away the most memeorable and most beloved by me. Which is why it pains me more and more the worse and worse the new series of it are. I want Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime damnit.

I'm going slightly off topic here aren't I?

It was all about the TMNT and Ghostbusters for me. Yes, the Ghostbusters cartoons were outsourced to Asia too, and it shows. I still rmember having the the Ghostbusters hideout with the holes so you could seep goo slowly down every floor and give mum a hard time cleaning it all up XD

Luckily, the Ghostbusters remake has already been and gone, and no one remembers it. Actually, the Ghostbusters of the 80s was a remake itself, of a Hanna Barbera cartoon from the 70s! I bet when the first movie was annouced, there was people raised on the old cartoon ranting at how different it was. Thing is, the Hanna Barbera cartoon was nothing more than a poor Scooby Doo cash-in clone.

Wasn't it the other way round? I seem to remember the Hanna Barbara cartoon being released roughly the same time, leading the 80's (awesome) cartoon to be renamed "The Real Ghostbusters" so's not to confuse.
Ah, now that WAS a good show (and Movie. Hell, I bloody love the movies to bits. Second one included. "The Titanic's docked!"), shame after a while they focused on Slimer. Hateful little thing.

You could be right, actually. The Hanna one did come around first, though.

Is it just me are 75% of cartoons for the 80's over-rated? Maybe it's just me... a Thundercats remake? Maybe they might pull it off, just as soon as Satan starts skating to work!

Oh, by the way, I've got my broadband back now. Just thought I'd say...

It's the 70s that are over-rated but that's just my opinion.

Hasn't got any stills but it should bring you up to speed (try google if you need screens). It was average from what i've watched of it.

And am I the only one who gets freaked out when people say they want to fuck Cheetara?

Probably not. Dunno if we have furries present but don't say that too loud.

Cheetara didn't really look like a fuurie though, just a human with funky paint on.

I'm not saying I found her hot, though. April O' Neil was my childhood honey XD

Let's not turn this into a "Who's-hottest" contest. They have enough of those at the Toon Zone forums ;p

Mind you.. (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/23638047)

(The TMNT remake's April O'Neil is BORING in comparison.)
