Try adjusting it so that, holding the arrow key in the direction of the wall, you jump to full height right as you hit the wall again.

Good. Perhaps you could organize us a little bit?

Someone should start designing levels. Is it OK if I do Stellar Dragon's level? I already have it planned out on paper.

You start on Earth, go through an area, take a shuttle up to an orbital base, (the shuttle will be an edited version of the one in MMX2 Overdrive Ostrich's level) go through another area with reduced gravity, and then fight Stellar Dragon. That's the gist of it anyway. I'll put the map on MS Paint later.

Also, is there anyone with knowledge of Game Maker that's played the SNES games enough to help BluesSoul get any error straightened out?

We still need more spriters. Preferably capable ones. As many as possible.

Haragorn doesn't seem to be doing anything but posting simple recolours. If he's even in this project anymore, it might be benificial for him to do something else, or otherwise prove that he can make an origional sprite.

Let's see... what am I missing?

Edit: Oh yeah, we need to refine the story. Here's tt87's plotline:

The story is set after the end of Megaman X3, but before the beginning of Megaman X4. The plot is as follows:

After the defeat of Sigma, X returns to the Hunter base, only to discover that it is filled with Mavericks. Knowing what he should do, he begins fighting once again. Halfway to the main control room, X meets up with a strange reploid, one that looks just like himself. The reploid introduces himself, and after a battle, tells X what is going on. It turns out that Sigma had 8 more Maverick Bosses stationed in random areas of the city, waiting for such a time. But that isn't the only problem. Reploids from the future were also causing mayhem, and had joined forces with Sigma's Mavericks. It turns out that one of these futuristic reploids had broken into the hunter base and captured all the hunters, then took control of the computer and teleported the small mavericks there. X makes his way to the central computer area, only to be zapped with an electric shock and captured with the rest of the hunters. However, X is not easily captured. He breaks free of the containment unit, losing his armor and weapons in the process. Finding the reploid responsible for the damage, X destroys it. After setting the hunters free, X sets out to find new armor and to defeat these 8 new Mavericks.

Ok, there are several flaws. Why did the robot that looked like X attack X? Sigma was waiting for what time? From the future? Why would they come back and randomly cause trouble? Why would they join Sigma's mavericks? If time travel was possible, don't you think that they'd have figured it out by 21XX? If there were troublesome reploids in the future, don't you think that Zero, X, whoever's in the ZX series, etc. would be fighting them/following them back? They hadn't discovered time travel in MMZ; for them to have discovered time travel would make them futuristic beyond pier and thus impossible to defeat. How does breaking out of containment make X lose armor? Where's Zero? He never died. Is Sigma going to be revived? If not, who the hell is the villain? The blah blah blah blah blah.

I could go on, but the point is that the story's unrefined. tt87, I'd like permission to touch up on those details. A game can't be good without a solid story.

That would make it easier to impliment a reason for whoever traveled back in time to travel back in time... or maybe the robots that invaded HQ had technology from the future sold on the black market of the recent future? But then you'd have to take into account that the incredible technology of reploids was soley designed by Dr. Light and copied, so people might not even have the capability to time travel, unless a smart reploid were to have-- *Shorts out from using brain too much.*
Eh, I'll think of something. Also, I'm going to work what I can with the script, then send it to someone else for revising.

It's attached to my post, this is the "Takashi" Palette, minus a darker black.

(I just used 255,255,255 for my darkest black, but I don't think that will work in GM.)

Just use anything you want.

EDIT: ya, it's big! I was playing around, so now the pixels are 500*500*500, or 125000000 times bigger!

Additionally, I have updated MX597's font set. I found almost ALL of the capital letters, plus the numbers 3, 5, and 9.

I've had lotsa tests. I have the IntroScript done and ready for editing, but I want to actually finish the entire story before I submit anything. Also, it appears I'll have to do to Stellar Dragon what Soviet did to 32-bit Protoman, (he did the reverse side so he was actually turned around) because otherwise it looks really akward. I haven't gotten around to ripping the backgrounds off of the MMX games yet, but I will.

Synonomous comes from the word synonym. If two words are synonyms, they mean the same thing. For instance Big and Large are synonyms. in other words, Big and large are Synonomous. What he was saying was "Walking Poses=Hard," or "walking poses are hard to make."

Rags: Until tt87 can answer your question, custom enemy sprites would probably help.

Haukura: Swords are something we will not be needing. If you think you are capable of a good and fully/near fully custom (or at least origional) boss sprite, go right ahead and make one. Get the details of the characters from tt87's homepage (link on first page of thread). But it has to be in the MMX1-3 style.

Ok... lotsa thinks wrong with that.

The colors are killing my eyes. Bright yellow and [anything] just don't mix. Almost all of it is a (badly patched) frankenstein or recolour, and it doesn't fit witht the style. Sorry... but it just isn't... good.at all

I haven't left, I've just been really busy since I'm trying to find a job.

I 'will' , however give full responsibility for the storyline to MX597.

I will still be doing -some- level layouts and more work on the DoubleT bosses... also I can do recolours and search for tilesets and BG's.

Uh, well, it's kinda too big to be SNES X-sprite... If that's what you mean. And you can change images to b&w with Paint, just save the image as one-colored bitmap.

ok Um I am working on turning the picture b&w. But I need some one to do the walking sprites for me I am not that good on doing that kind of stuff.Oh and I have a few attacks for Thunder thistle. One is Call Electro Rod. The other is called Transformer Explosion. I hope you guys know what a transformer is and I am not talking about that Anime where those robots turn into Cars and stuff.

You know, you really should put that in your first post to avoid confusion, some people don't usually go through a few replies (even if its the third one XD) and if its a Game Maker file, won't be able to play it.

I got 2 questions:
1: could who ever programmed it, could you post an example on how to do the wall jumping?
2:You guys need any help programming? If you're using GM, I can help with enemy programming. The problem is that I don't have the registured version :g-drop: .
Also, if you're having problems doing the charge beam, I can help with that.

From the demo, I say you guys are making some good progress. Once you get done with physics, it gets rather easier from there.

Although its not exactly the wall jumping technique, go to http://sfghq.emulationzone.org/ and check the game maker tutorials in the tutorial section, I think you might find something of intrest there (if anything, the Knuckles tutorial would have basic information on how to do wall jumping)

Uh-oh, I'm afraid to tell this, but I can't sprite very well for a while now... I kinda hurt my hand... it was smashed by a door... You know, I closed the door, but my hand (Actually, my fingers) were left under it... And it hurts like hell now, so I pretty much can't sprite well now... Atleast for two or thee days now, maxium of a week..... So... I can only rip sprites now... Not sprite...

I know how that feels. Expect I got the tip of my finger in the hinges side of the door. The tip came off. Not fun. Now I have a defomed finger nail. Happened when I was 7.

I donno... BluesSoul is kinda our programmer, if I'm correct...
Then about the UltimateArmor... My dear, good working computer decided to crash again... And well it took most of my spritefiles with it... So now it's just matter of time when I find the back-up CD for the files... (Thank God for CDs..)
But then about level enemies. I have some AlphaJoes ready. (Decided to name them AlphaJoes, because they are my first ''Joe'' sprite attempts)

From order of up to down they are Ice-Level Joe, Aqua-Level Joe (That Underwater JetPack is still kinda unfinished..) and Forest-Level Joe.

Okay,okay,I am not dead, just that I have alot of homework in recent times. I also have some good news, and some bad news.

The good news is that my hand is more or less healed.(At least it doesn't hurt like hell when i move it.)
The bad news is...I have have a crapload of holiday homework.That means that I don't have alot of time to sprite.

On the other hand, the Zero plotline has been postponed until MetoolX gets his storyline done.

sorry I haven't been posting for this game.I have been gone a lot I mean alot alot. I have been bisy with a Trans script of r JNight hawk and witch he bashed it to the enth digree.A so I flamed him back say how he sux and stuff. Oh and doing more of my AXL in MMZ graphics sprite sheet. And Now I had to help my mom and dad get the new refrigerator in. Whooo that was alot to write. I prom us I will start on the sprite sheet for thender thistle in a few mins. I have a few attacks for him.And a bio for him too. I'll tell you about that bio of his later.

Yes, the AlphaJoes are usable, and Ninjoe really doesn't need all teh extra sprites, and whomever wanted to do boss programming, they can, and ... huh huh huh... umm.. 'bye now.

Good News Everyone!
I'm soon to be starting on custom powerup sprites and more level design, whichever enters my mind first!

Also, to MX597: When can we expect that new storyline?

And to everyone: Hopefully whithin the next few months, I'm going to apply to DeVry University (for game design) and if I get accepted, then after a few more months, this project is going to be ALOT busier with REAL game design learning!

Nope, it's not. :( You've just revived a thread that's over three months old.

Without someone to keep things going, the project kind of stopped moving, as far as I know. I haven't even thought of this project in a long time. If you ever want to devote more time and energy into this yourself, I'll be glad to, but until then, people probably aren't going to be working on it.
