Not seeing any new levels there, though nice to see that you'll have plenty of things to blow up. So then I take it Shadow won't be restricted to vehicles? Wonder what difference he'll have with Sonic that makes Sonic's gameplay more unique, if any. Got to admit, liking that screenshot of Sonic running upside down on some sort of tree trunck and Shadow falling down with the background of some sort of cathedral.
Also seems like Shadow's facing off against some sort of hedgehog looking boss, are hedgehogs dominating the game entirely now? also liked the last screenshot but it also shows me voids of death appear alot in this game (well judging by all three levels, which all have voids of death =E)
EDIT: And Advent Children eat your heart out, CGI is better whoop! (not saying thats a selling point mind you)
Also notice how much Silver shines? looking more and more like a living star everyday.
I love how the new guy looks.
I love sonic :P, I played since the one on super nintendo heh :D. Well this looks great! I wish I could play it :P

Heh, I *still* think Silver (the new 'hog) looks like the lovechild of GeminiMan and Amy Rose.
Although, the gameplay sounds like it's going to be a nerfed version of Sonic Adventure 2. The running stages are all well and good, but any car sections with Shadow aren't going to be that original, and the telekinetic stages with Silver look just plain slow.
Silly Sega, hedgehogs are for running.
New info people from SEGA http://www.sega-europe.com/en/Game/313.htm
Looks like the release date is on Christmas! (also Amy has been confirmed to be in this game a an NPC)

True, but when you can destroy giant sky towers with the assistance of a few metal boxes, it'll look awesome, also we dont know the length of his stages yet, they could be incredibly short...then again they can be like Eggmans and Tails from SA2, incredibly long and at times frustrating and boring.

What...are you talking about? Sonic was never on the Super Nintendo, unless you meant the illegal pirate game with Sonic replacing Speedy Gonzales? 0_o
1) The human characters still freak me out?
2) Why do they even still need to use FMV cut senes with graphics like that?
3) I think we can offically pass over the Sonic franchise to the new generation, as it's clearly not "our" Sonic anymore.
4) It's very pretty, though. So it should be, really.
5) They should still call just re-name Sonic Adventure 3, though. IMO.

I know what you mean, but since Sonic's home planet was always Earth, they were going to throw more humans into Sonic's world at one point, and they did in sonic Adventure (thats right, Sonic has always lived on planet Earth, Christmas Island and South Island are all locations on Earth) personally would have preferred a more cartoony look on them but hey, SEGA said they wanted the game to show what a real life Sonic would look like (in other words, time to start copying Square Enix)

I'm not sure about that, Sonic's always had plenty of variations of himself pre-Adventure series, the world full of little animals that Sonic and Tails helped to be free from the evil grasp of Dr. Eggman, the dark tone of a world almost completely control by a ruthless tyrant Doctor Robotnik and Sonic trying to save a princess and her kingdom, the skirt-chasing Sonic the Hedgehog from AoSTH and so on. Unless your meaning "our" Sonic to the original SEGA Sonic.

While on the one hand, face it, some of the old stuff hasn't aged well, on the other hand- Fuck it. As long as we have the good shit :g-winky:

No no no, I mean the look of the humans in the game is freaky, the whole humans in the series thing went over ages ago, as much as I still hated them in Sonic X. The girl in this game just looks plain odd, and so does Eggman. When you look at the characters in Virtua Fighter 5 and then this...it feels like something’s gone wrong in this game. Bad designs rendered well, perhaps?

But Sega has made sure that the Adventure-style has taken over the entire franchise in all countries and all forms of media, mainly to keep things consistent. The reason there was so many variations of styles with the Sonic franchise back in the early 90's was because Sega didn't really have a solid story for Sonic other than the game premise (Until Sonic 3), so they tweaked with the franchise to suit every region in their own ways, to appeal to as many as possible, hence why we had SATAM/AOSTH/etc. Hell, even the manuals to the games has different stories for each region. Now that they know hat anything Japan does everyone else will accept (Pop culture wise), from Sonic Adventure onwards the actual Sonic Team way was law, so to speak. The whole they-live-on-earth thing? Part of the new-gen franchise, but before that, like a lot of elements of the series, it was varied all over the place.
But the Sonic I'm referring to is the overall used globally. Sonic more or less went into hibernation during the 32-Bit years, with only those that hadn't moved on holding onto the series, but Sonic Adventure was a complete re-invention of the franchise made for a new generation, with the new look characters and everything. Sega seem to be calling this new game a re-invention of the franchise when it blatantly is not, it's merely a follow-up to previous 3D games like Sonic Advenure 2 and Shadow the Hedgehog. Sonic Mega Collection was a introduction to a new generation of what Sonic was all about, and Gems collection, judging by it's complete lack of new-gen style, was aimed at the old-school-gen.

Sonic has aged much better than a lot of older game series', dispite the odd naff spin-offs, if you ask me.
When I first saw the new hedgehog pic floating I thought OMG!!!!! We can PLAY as HYPER SONIC agian!!!!!! But then that was let down... just like most new sonic games you can't get super or hyper anyone! Also I think this will rock. but the demo at E3 for the sonic Wii game was completley diffrent from this.
